Monitors at your gigs???

Rebelguy 10:06 AM - 20 December, 2006
What's everyone using for Monitors (if at all) at your mobile events. I am thinking some kind of 10" powered monitor would be good.

depends on the gig and how close i am to the dance floor. most of the time, im being bumped by the dancers, in which case, i dont need anything, or if theres not a big echo, im good also. honestly, all you need is something small to break apart the echo and not to mess you up, any speaker will do.

I use my Mackie SRM450's. They are overkill for most mobiles, though...
Dj KaGeN 10:35 PM - 20 December, 2006
I scopped up SRM450 and a Gator 700 rolling bag for this purpose, I was sick of going places and having a tired ass shitty monitor or one that cuts out halfway thru the night. I want to confident that I will be able to pull off long mixes anywhere I go. There was a recent thread that had a nice portable 10" - I believe Ryme posted it - I'll look for it.

i use a SHS audio 10 incher... it was like $120 at the local pro audio store, has a 2 channel mixer built in and xlr, 1/4", and RCA connections on it and a EQ.... might not sound as good as a mackie or a JBL... but its perfect for monitoring use at the clubs.

yeah man. defintely the best $200 i ever spent. how many times have I lugged an EON into a gig for a monitor. forget that. i take this little thing everywhere now. it's also my practice sound system for home so i don't have to drag my eon in the house either. it also has 1/4 inch, xlr and RCA inputs! ,.. my eon G1 only have xlr in. the thing is friggin sweet. that's all i got to say.
Dj Ryme 12:02 AM - 21 December, 2006
it has rca??? are you sure???? I think just xlr & 1/4.
a-swift 12:13 AM - 21 December, 2006
oh crap. you're right. i plugged a 1/4 to rca adapter into it and left it there so i thought it had rca. heehee. my bad. for $1.49 it has rca inputs.
