So I need to make myself a dj booth. I have a gig next weekend and nothiing to put my equipment on.... I need something like 4 feet high (IM TALL). I figured I'd just make my own but have no idea where to start. Needs to be portable and stable doesnt need to be too fancy I thought maybe i'd get a regular table and just put like a black cover over it with a coffin on top. Anyone got any suggestions or ideas? PICS? Links?

At wal mart, they have these folding tables that are the perfect dimensions to drop 2 turntables (sitting regular style or battle style) and up to a 19" mixer. They run about $25... I think they are made by a company called Cosco...you can get the table and put some black cover/cloth on it...I had one of those before I picked up a coffin and stand

I got this from walmart in Los Angeles area: www.djgusa.com
The table top is surprising strudy and fits for my DJing equipment. If you have very heavy equipment sitting on the table, the thin legs might not be that sturdy. Skiggz, I don't think it's 4ft high, sorry. But like vestax_75 said, the Cosco table is around 25 bucks. It's compact enough to be easily carried by one person.

Assuming you have TT cases for your decks...
dj skiggz wants his decks 48 inches in the air..
That folding table is at his knees at 29.25 inches High!!! WAY TOO SHORT even after stacking the lids of TT cases under the decks...
The tri-fold (really for a coffin) has a height of 34 inches and will require some additional flat surface to place TT cases upon... still a bit short even after stacking the lids of TT cases under the decks and if you place the coffin lid under...
Seriously man... If you need your gear that high in the air I suggest you get a folding table and a couple milkcrates - or empty 50 count record cases on their sides to raise yourself up to that height.

When I first started Djing at this club in 1995 the equipment they used were two regular home cd players and a realistic mixer. The cd players were on top of old cardboard budweiser bottle cases. lol
