Sorry I need to vent to my Serato brothers..
Do any of you have any of these issues??

Ok.. its cold in Chicago and everyone is wearing coats to the clubs.. Im really getting annoyed with the whole coat check situation and people being so damn cheap that they can't check their coats at the coat check for a measly 2 dollars..why is it that I have Amps overheating cuz of heavy @ss coats blocking vents.

Women.. why do I have to worry about another DJ and two or three other girls trying to dance in the booth thats 3 X 5 while Im mixing..I dont mind coming by and saying hi.. But the dancing and getting in my way that I cant even get to my laptop while Im spinning is definitely not cool..

other DJ's boys.. why do you have to stand in the booth while your boy is mixing.. are you holding his laptop.. are you his lifeline.. are you checking his temperature?? And why do you have to be the fattest person in the club... I have to mix next and I cant even start up my lappy with you taking up all the damn space!!!

And drinks.. drinks everywhere..

So one day I had it..kicked out the promoter..his friend, and three girls outs of the 3x5 DJ booth because I could not mix. I had it!! Finally!! Some air.. Some room!!! But its starting again.... Im going to make a sign, laminate it, and hang that sucker on the door... DJ BOOTH IS FOR DJ's ONLY, NO COAT CHECK!

how about when the club deside to move the DJ's out of the dj booth and onto the stage.. wich would not be bad.. if the stage was not only a few inches taller then the dance floor and right on the dance floor. So peeps use the dj table for drinks, Ciggs, and lean over the dj set up to request a song.. no matter how mny times you ask them not to touch the tables. I deisgned the DJ booth in this club.... it is a huge dj booth with space for 2-3 dj set ups and it even has its own couch in it for otehr dj's to be able to relex away from the crowd when they need it(preplanned for the issues you stated above)

Lmao...omg i know how u feel. My friend is always up there by me messing up my game and hes humongous.......love the sunofabitch but damn go get some whale to dance with for christ sakes. Seriously....they hoping to get action cuz they know the dj.

Yea...sometimes they even stand right on my turntables! It's annoying when I'm trying to scratch.

Hey, we used to have a COAT SALE/AUCTION after the party for all those coats left in the DJ booth...

I'd start the bidding at 5:00 for a NICE LEATHER 3/4 length...and hold that puppy up for the crowd to bid on...

Don't let it be a RAGGEDY COAT...they would be FOREVER EMBARRASED to claim it.

They eventually learned...

When I was first starting out, I thought I would be 'cool' and let this hot chick stash her coat in the booth; well she pulled a bait-n-switch on me because not only did she give me her coat but also six other people's coats!

To make matters worse, one of the coats 'disappeared' and a purse was emptied... Long story - short, the club had to buy a new supposedly-leather jacket and I did NOT get laid.

Now when people ask me to hold their coat, I tell them management doesn't permit it.

First thing I tell them Is If it gets stolen I won't be held responsible...I can't do my job and pay attention to your stuff...Im seriously thinking of having them sign some disclaimer...lol....

It was a Thursday night at the BUZZ.. every damn Thursday.. Same crap.. Oh and that whole drink on the table and bumping the table.. I HATE THAT!!! GO DANCE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

And who made the Dj booth the VIP section??? I know the DJ is important, but damn.. don't you want to go dance,drink, meet some people..

I def. feel you on this.

I never hate on girls when theyre in the booth, especially when theyre randoms and theyre hot. I find a way to work around them. But my boys and the boys of the other DJs/promoters, that aint happenin.

Its cool once in a while if they chill, but some people attempt to have FULL OUT conversations with me. I really dont care how that girl youre trying to check isnt feelin you and no, i wont give you advice on what to do about it, especially when i'm mid-set.

I like the wannabe-cats that put on the headphones so they can 'look' like a DJ.

Along the same lines, I remember seeing a DJ walk around the club with his headphones around his neck. His reason? He forgot they were on... STFU B!tch and take those Geminis off you poser!

I've done that, forget the phones were on my neck. I didn't make it out of the booth though, the leash brought me back. :)

You guys think that's bad? How about the drunk people that try scratching when you're not looking. I don't care how good looking the girl is I always cuss them out for doing that.

i always have my 6'6" boy with me playing bouncer. only humans with 2 legs and 3 holes are allowed back there; and they have to be hot; and they must be coatless.
