We are pitch correcting 30-45 minutes long audio piece from 23.98/ 29.98 to 25 fps or the other way around.
All the audio is converted using algorithm A with no changes except for the pitch correction.
Currently, we have encountered the issue where the part of the audio is being corrupted. The issue seem to only occur when we batch many tracks at once (anywhere between 24 to 92 tracks).
However, the audio sounds fine when tracks are pitch corrected individually.
whenever the picth correction is in progress, there are no other programs running on the machine.

Protools session maximum track number is set to 96 voices.
Are there limitation to how much data can be converted at one sitting?
If there are, are these limited to numbers of the tracks or the amount of audio being converted?

thank you.

Hi hijiri.okada,

There are a couple of things that could be causing this issue you are having:

1) RAM corruption - How much RAM does your computer have? There was an issue in OS X with how RAM was addressed and swapped in machines with 4GB RAM or more. This issue was fixed in OS X 10.5.8, so you may need to upgrade your OS.

2) Multi-channel mode - Are you using Multi-channel mode? The Pitch 'n Time manual says:
Quote:
Multi-channel mode enforces phase coherency between all the selected tracks, up to the AudioSuite limit of 48 channels. Use this feature only when absolutely necessary, as enforcing phase coherency unnecessarily can be detrimental to the sound quality.

Please let me know if either of those help you at all :)

Thank you for the response.

1) My machine currently has 4G 667M RAM. I will try and update the software for 10.5.8.

Question is, does this mean that there are virtually no limitation to the amount of data which can be processed simultaneously? (within the boundaries of protools limitations) If i were to be processing aiff or wav file at 48000 with duration of 30 minutes, how much tracks shouold pitch'n'time/ protools should be able to handle?

2) No, I do not use multi-channel mode. I have not had any phasing issues between the tracks.

Ok great, please let me know if the upgrade to 10.5.8 helps.

Pitch 'n Time Pro complies with the AudioSuite limit of 48 channels, so 48 mono tracks or 24 stereo tracks.

Hi hijiri.okada,

Are you still having this issue?
