here is my little collection of custom effects!

download, extract the Zip (right click on it) and put the XML Files in your music/ scratch live/ effects folder

what exactly does this XML file do to the effects? can someone explain?

is a custom effect created by putting efx's together

They will add new effect sounds to the effect select menu.

I have a bunch of fx's but they are in .dll format, is there anyway to make em xml??

when i extract the files into my scratch live folder should the new effects just show up in the drop down effects menu on serato?cause mine aint

no what your gonna need to so is mess with one of the original effects (take like an echo or something and change the paramaters) name and save it. That should create an effects folder in your SL directory (ill look up the hierarchy) they you unzip the effects to that folder, restart SL and the effects should be added to the drop down list

1) open ssl
2)go to DJ FX
3)go to Customize Mode
4)add any effects then move any Knob
5) go to save
6)save as
7)add any name
8) save
9)then go to Music >Scratch Live >Effects<(you will see this folder)
10)then open effects u will see the file u made
11)copy the custom FX presets you download it
12)paste it in the folder effects
13)then open ssl go to DJ FX
---------------------------------------------------------------
or just go to Music >Scratch Live >**(Effects)**created a folder name Effects
open and paste the custom FX presets

XP = C:\Documents and Settings\<yourname>\My Documents\My Music\ScratchLIVE\Effects

Vista/Win7 = C:\Users\<yourname>\My Music\ScratchLIVE\Effects

Mac = ~\Users\<yourname>\Music\ScratchLIVE\Effects

Is there a bipolar filter effect in SSL 2.0? I only see low-pass and high-pass. It'd be sweet to have a one-knob bipolar filter (all the way left is LP, all the way right is HP, and in the middle is un-effected) with resonance controls. That way you could have ONE knob to handle both filter effects. Anybody know?

No Handle, since you already watched Konix vids about the X1, watch his vid about the 2.1 Beta an you'll see how it works...it's called the super knob, if you turn this super knob, you combine all the other knobs.

question: when using echo out effect in ssl is it possible to edit it and have the volume louder. in order words the echo out volume drops drastically and I wanted it a lil louder before it start to decay.

All I know is, you can edit SFX, create your own and save them, so try it out.

i know what you mean i been getting in the habit of turning the gain up on my mixer when i hit the button so it can be heard it works out pretty so far.

i tried editing but nothing works. Maybe the serato team needs to do some work on it.

Yep that should work.

I finally made the jump to 2.2. I was holding out because I was having trouble with my DenonHC100S getting connected. It only seemed to work well with 1.9.2. I love using that controller but I never used anything other than the Scratch Live presets until last night. I can’t believe how easy it was to set up my effects on the second MIDI page. I never used the effects or the MIDI mapping capabilities of Scratch Live but I should have done this a long time ago.

Anyone else has more presets?

hey guys, after using my 68, I put back 57 back on but now my effect list won't show up. I cannot even scrool down, its empty...how do I fix it? I am only using 1 effect on each side.

Does anyone have a pitching serato effect similar to the one on the djm800?

As far as I've looked around there's no pitch fx in SSL. I use my HC1000 for pitch FX.

i had to google to find this. in the interest of user-development and community, it should have a sticky. even if only a few people have actually contributed presets lol..

side note: i think we'd see more user-developed fx if we could access them in the offline player *hint hint*

one question:

I have put these .xml files in mymusic/_serato_/effects/ folder but all other working effects have extension .super or .ultra. SO these .xml actually dont work. How to make them work ?

anyone have trailing echo effect? currently use Fade Echo on 1 tt & let the other ride out the song... problem is can't really hear it at times -- have to play with ch faders..

I just started messing with some different effects this weekend and found a new appreciation for the TREMOLO effect. If you crank it all the way up it makes a great Transformer scratch. Check out my Youtube video explaining it.
