Hi Thebasementwonder,
You can't turn existing crates into smart crates I'm afraid.
In regards to examples, here are the instructions from the 2.0 beta release notes:
You can now create Smart Crates which automatically update their contents using keywords from your music library.
To create a smart crate press the Add Smart Crate button in the bottom left corner of the main screen (which has a picture of a blue crate on it).
A popup window will open which will allow you to add the rules to fill your smart crate. Press Add Smart Crate Rule to add a rule for the smart crate to match on. For each rule you can choose a field to match on from the drop down menu.
So what you could do is make a smart crate which contained a particular artist or genre. It's entirely up to you :)

Hey Michael
I can use the smart crate system in ITCH. It works only if i enable read itunes library in ITCH then it will read if you dont have that enabled then it wont show the crates.
hopefully smart crates will be apart of the next ITCH update

Normal crates should show without the iTunes Library being enabled, does this not happen for you?
Smart crates shouldn't display at all.

No worries at all, I was a little confused as to how that could possibly work ;)
But don't worry, smart crates will make their way into ITCH.

umm why dont the smart crates move from mac to mac, like all my other crates do, but my smart crates dont. Why is that?

smart crates are on the internal drive ONLY. so if you use an external they are not saved onto it. So you would have to copy the smart crates folder from your internal drive in music then scratchlive and copy that to the other computers internal drive scratchlive folder.
hopefully in time they may change this.
cheers
