audacity records bunch of problems with static and noise

using serato and xone22 mixer. have rca go from mixer to mic on laptop. input levels turned down on audacity. still can't get a good recording. low freq (bass) sounds so weird with noise and stuff. any ideas?

You don't have a line input, only mic. You'll need an external soundcard.

I used to record through mic back in the day, if I remember correctly there is an option in Windows for a Mic boost. Might wanna take a look at that.
