It is interesting. I wonder what the price of just the software is. It appears it is PC only & plays VOB & other files. Wonder how good the time control is using CDJ's or wax compared to the controller.

I JUST WONDERING WHY ON VDJ, IT ALLOWS YOU TO USE THE CROSS FADER WITH AUDIO/VIDEO AT THE TIME WITH THE CLICK OF A BUTTON AND SERATO DOESNT (UNLESS U SPEND $1300.00 ON THE TTM 57SL? THATS REALLY PITIFUL THAT RANE MAKE DJS WHO ALREADY TAKE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS MONEY NOWADAYS SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY PLUS 200.00 FOR A PLUG-IN!!! WHEN U COULD JUST ADD IT(CROSS FADER OPTION) IN THE SOFTWARE AS A PLUGIN FOR DJS WHO DONT USE THE RANE MIXER...REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND THIS!!! YOU COULD EVEN CHARGE FOR THE PLUGIN FOR THAT, IF U HAD TOO!!!

you can assign any midi crossfader to the serato video crossfader.

just like w/ the other programs...


they are all midi based.

I'm guessing the soundcard might be in the controller.......I might be wrong......my fear is that U may need the controller/soundacrd even if U choose to use CDJ's or 1200's....that would be a deal killer

judging by the screen shots of teh software;
the mixing audio and video is done in the software.
the cueing is done in the software as well.
unless it is on the bottom, there is no headphone jack

you most likely need a soundcard.

unit has 6 channel sound card built in, the headphone jack is on the back of the unit. I did not see any mic input so far.

Mixvibes was the first software that I used to dj with on a laptop and I must admit it was really nice back then, you could have up to at 10 turntables which was really cool,,, u needed an ext sound card to run it like it had a mixer... the only problem at the time is that it did not work with records or cd's. Then came Final Srcatch and Scratch Live,,, THE END...I am way too invested into SLV to even think about it. I will say this they had a damn good product, I used it for at least 150 weddings easy with no problems no mixers or truntables it was the bomb....

Thats pretty badass, too bad the controller looks like a toy. Does the newest VSL beta have bpm synced effects and live video feed capability? Havent checked it out yet.

It has bpm based effects.

IE Bass zoom, and effects like that work off the kick/bass
(which is actually better than a BPM based effect...
Ive seen effects not know what to do when soley using the equation from
the bpm...transitions, breakdowns, buildups...the just remain at that same bpm
controlled interval)

its the same theory as trying to use an auto-loop from a song that changes BPMs
(IE Transitions) you can only use that function based on the BPM listed in the song.

if only there was a bpm grid that could be created, adjusted and moved like in traktor.
i figured out how to get transitions to sync and effects to stay on beat even through speed changes.

(after paying a visit to Jolly Green Giant) ...

A video effect converter (like an MP4 coverter) would be dope (if that would ever be possible - haha). If you have purchased other programs (like Video-SL, ME, MixVibes, etc.), you could convert effects, transition/crossfader effects, etc. to work with your different Video DVS systems.
