Best Buy Not Selling Serato Products? WTF?

DJ Josh V 11:13 AM 19 March 2010
So a few Best Buys here in Southern Cali apparently are trying to compete with Guitar Center and Sam Ash by having there own Music/Instrument store within the store.YES I know Best Buy has been in this game for a minute from what Ive seen on the web site but these mini stores poppin up is new to me.Anyway, I was in one today and asked the sales guy if I could check out that NS7 with itch and he told me that they dont sell serato products.Like I said, WTF!

ya they have a deal with numark to distribute their products, also i bet a 1 peice all in 1 dj kit would sell better in BB than something you have to buy additional gear that they dont sell there

well best buy owns guitar center so I'm guessing they're not gonna sell a ton of high end gear because they don't want to be a competitor of the same business they own.

You sure? I know a few years ago they were purchased by the huge company that Mitt Romney owns

(numark makes the ns7, software provided is serato itch)

So yes, they do sell serato products.

www.bestbuy.com

Got to love minimum wage sales staff

on a related note, Guitar Center sells DJ Hero for 119.99. You can get it at Best Buy for $99.99.

I just don't get it. If both companies are owned by the same entity, why would they have different prices for the same thing.
latindj 5:32 PM 19 March 2010
because some jackasses like going to best buy and other dip shits buy their crap at GC. The ones going to GC know they can haggle prices and expect a lower price. The ones going to best buy pay whatever the sticker says...
DJ Josh V 7:38 PM 19 March 2010
Ya, I might go into a Best Buy or GC to check out the product in person then I order online, usually Amazon for the best prices and free shipping not tax :-).

Half the guys at these stores dont know what the hell there talking about.Trying to hustle me when it comes to electronics....I dont think so.
