Recording with 57...

When you record mixes with the 57 how do you take the file and make it smaller? It seems that when I record using the 57 it turns it into an AIF file it makes it really big. I would like to record using the 57 and be able to take the file size to make it smaller to allow me to upload it using an online program. How do all of you record your sets with the 57? I also have adobe audtion if that helps...but when I take the aux out and plug it into my laptop it clips really hard. Sound quality seems to be the best using the 57 as the recording station the best which is the way to go for me. Any suggestions or ideas would be awesome! Thanks!

just use a MP3 encoder (I use LAME) to convert the AIF to MP3 format.
