I want to figure out how to overlay text and images in video sl while mixing videos. For example have a logo in the corner of the screen while mixing from 1 video to the next.

In the current version it isn't possible. That is a feature we intend to add very soon. I know we have toyed with it in the 1.2 beta but that is not something we consider stable enough to gig with at the moment.

I just downloaded the 1.2 update for video sl and still cant figure out how to do the text/image overlay. Are there any instructions or info I can get to help? Thanks

In the middle video screen, there is a set-up button. Click that and 4 tabs open to the right. The fourth tab is where you would enable the text and images.

Do you see that tab?

I have selected both text and images, and it still does not show up. Please help!

I see the 4th tab label arrangement when you click the setup tab, but all that tab allows is for normal (output), left-right, and left-output-right??? When I choose those all it does is change the size of the image on the middle screen. What am I missing?? Thanks for you help on this.

Where do you select text and images? I do not see that anywhere..

I finally figured out how to overlay text and images... It was not explained that you also need to select the effect on the screen that shows the three displays. You set it the same way you would select any other effect for videos. I was not able to get the text or image to scroll or bpm zoom or bass zoom. Not sure why that does not work.

Yes, you need to name and save it.

You then go to the effects box on your video monitors and select that as your effect.

You control the parameters of the effects from that 4th tab. To have them take effect, hit Save and then you should see the changes if the effect is still loaded.

Yes I have the 1.2 video sl. I have not yet downloaded the 2.0 sl version I am still running 1.9. I download the 1.2 vsl and see the new effects that it said I would have but just do not see where to select text or images..Do you think that having a previous version of sl is the problem?

If you see the buttons, it should be simple from there. If you want an image, click that button, then click "browse" and search your computer for the image you want to use. Then select it and follow the steps below.

If you want text, click the text button and you will see an empty grey text box where you can type your message. Do so and then follow the steps below.

ok i just looked in the vsl 1.2 manual and see what the box is suppose to look like when you click the setup tab and I do not have the 4th tab labeled effects. I only have output info and control.

Then make sure you are using the latest versions of both the software. I know your SL version is old. Click the link below to grab both.
