Hello Tapout,
The cue points are stored in the actual song files so wherever they go that information should go with it.
Prior to moving your files from your external to your internal, if you opened SSL without your external plugged in did you see any files/crates in SSL?
My guess is SSL relocated some duplicate files which never had cue points added to them.
If you go to the exact location you moved the files to and import a file you know had cue points in it from there, do the cue points show up?
Do you still have the files on your external?
If so, do these files still have cue points?

Oh I see... your moving video files.
What type of files are they?
Know that the only video files that store info, such as cue points, in the actual files are MP4s.
If they are .mov, .avi, or some other video format that information is stored in a Metadata folder located in the _ScratchLIVE_ folder on your external.
With that said, try copying the Metadata folder from the _ScratchLIVE_ folder on your external to the ScratchLIVE folder on your internal drive.
Any luck?

yes they are all mp4 files i have not tried to move the Metadata folder to internal drive yet i will try that tonight or tomorrow

Hm.... mp4s should be saving their info to the actual file?
I suppose try moving the metadata folder anyways.
Let us know your findings.

Zach,
I was trying the same thing and am having the same issues. I moved my files form an internal to an external drive and I also use iTunes as well. It was also moved to the external.
I opened up iTunes first and then when I opened up ScratchLive it found my files but all of my cue points were gone.
It seems to have just created a new scratchLive folder on my internal.
How do I direct it to view the external scratchlive folder instead?

Justin,
In your case you need to move the Metadata folder located in your ScratchLIVE folder on your internal drive into the _ScratchLIVE_ folder on your external drive.

I did do that. I actually copied the entire scratchlive folder over there.
I must be missing a step somewhere.

OK I saw what I did...I had a file scructure of music/scratchlive as well as music/itunes
I moved the scratchlive folder outside the music folder and when I opened it ip I had cue points.
However it seems like I need to reanylyze all of my files now

I rescanned the id3 tags and still need to reanalyze 4500 files.

If you load these files onto the virtual deck do you see the wave forms?
VJ Justin Allen
8:39 PM - 18 March, 2010
I do see the wave forms but they load very slowly...kinda like scrolling across the screen.
Unlike when they are all analyzed and they just "pop" up.

Ok.. so you must have 'auto fill overviews' selected in the Library tab of setup.
It sounds like the metadata folder didn't bring your overviews.
That is weird?
Just to be clear... you moved the ScratchLIVE folder from your internal drive to the root of your external correct?
Did you add an _ at the beginning and the end of the ScratchLIVE name so it read _ScratchLIVE_?
This is essential.

Hm just wondering.
I went from leopard to snow leopard and in the process updated my iTunes library as well. Thinking that shouldn't make any difference but wanted to mention it.
Also I started from 1.9.1 as well.

Zach,
I went ahead and reanalyzed all the files...but have still lost most of my cue points.
It did not begin to rebuild however.
I am going to start the process over on Monday (this is a spare external so no harm done...just trying to figure this out)
Any suggestions?

I just remembered that you will need to drag/drop the metadata folder located in the the _ScratchLIVE_ folder (the one you moved from your internal) directly onto the 'relocate lost files' tab.
So.. once everything is moved to the external give that a try:)

How do you do that Zach?
Use the file menu and import it into scratchlive? and then drop it there?

Click the 'files' window, locate the Metadata folder in the files window, and drag/drop directly onto the 'relocate lost files' tab.

I tried that and it did not work. It would not drop on to it.
