Using 2 Video Setups- DVDJ + SMV 1000 + Video SL??

Hello,

On my thursday spot we are two djs and use 2 diff setups. I was not doing video there in the past because the cabling in the venue was terrible and even the other dj using the dvdjs would look horrible. Since they just put new cables and now everything is with hdmi I want to do video as well. What is the best way to connect my setup with his setup without losing quality?? I am using 2 cdjs 800 with a mixer and a macbook pro unibody and he's using 2 dvdj's 1000 and svm 1000. I do have the mini display to vga connector and also the converter box to rca, but i don't wanna use the converter box because the quality will drop a lot. Please let me know what is the best way to go. Thanks!

He is using s-video out of the dvj's so no matter where it goes to from there...it will always be svideo quality.

no, but his mixer has also component output.

1 of the options would be going with s video from my computer to one of his input and the 2nd choice would be coming out hdmi from my side so i won't lose quality but i would need some sort of switcher to switch from his system to mine.

If you're not tag-teaming, it should be fairly simple to just plug into their system using a DVI to HDMI adaptor cable out of your MacBook's Mini Displayport-to-DVI adaptor. I would definitely try to avoid using S-video.

If it's just a once-a-night DJ changeover, you wouldn't even need a switch...assuming the place brings HDMI connectivity into the booth.

well this is for an every week kind of thing and we want to be able to use both video systems.

IF everything is being feed into a HDMI cable run then this product would work perfect for the place.
