Hi, Having lock up issues, it happens anywhere from between 30sec to up to 5mins before it locks up, the platters still spin but the level meters freeze and there is no sound, I have to either unplug/replug to get it to work or switch off/on the NS7
Ive ran the latency checker and Im not sure what Im looking for
Ive just purchased the NS7 new(1 week old) and its a nov 2009 model, Ive updated the firmware from numark and itch to 1.5, Ive tried with wireless off and on and it makes no difference, nothing else is plugged in to my laptop
My Laptop specs are
Sony Vaio AW27, new
2.66ghz
4GB
Nivida 9600GT
1TB HD
Running Win 7 Ultimate
Any help appreciated

Hello, you will likely find that there is a Bios update available for your system or a USB chipset update. I recommend checking the sony website to make sure you have these and the latest drivers for your system. Allot of new systems with the I series processors have shipped needing updates.

Everything is updated, Its running a core 2 duo with 64bit edition of ultimate, I updated to the numark 64bit beta drivers which didnt change anything, still random lockups, Im peaking between 2000 and 3000 using the latency checker, I ran the process explorer, itch is peaking up and down constantly and is using the most resources. Ive killed all non essential services and startup programs, tried running itch as admin...still no luck
Im really quite bummed out as I paid $6000 nz ($4200 US) for the laptop new and have a wedding todo in 1 month, If I cant get it to work with confidence Ill have to switch back to mixmeister to get me thru
Anything else I could try??

window 64 bit is not supported by serato at the moment.. honestly with all the money you spend you should have gotten your self a macbook pro and your problem would be solve..

Yep well I didnt and there are reasons as to why I have a windows based laptop, I have an Imac but this is not going to fix the situation Im in now with my lappy, so Ill guess Ill have to park up the NS7 and go back to mixmeister while all the bugs with Win 7 are hopefully sorted
Ive run various other audio gear, soundcards, midi controllers and even my drumset thru my lappy without any audio issues or software lockups, so Im at a loss, Ive been reading various other posts with similar issues and the general reply from Serato is "contact the manufacturer and build up a case against them as you may have a faulty laptop"...YEAH RIGHT more like faulty software!

Hi Jas,
Did you try the DPC latency checker?
Would you like us to call you drop me a PM with your contact details if so and we can look at the system remotely.

Hello an express card would not necessarily solve the issue if the conflict is on the main board. There are varying levels of traffic and the NS7 uses a large amount of traffic, please let me know if you would like me to connect to your PC and tweak it for you.
Drop me a PM with your contact details.
