hey everyone just bought a mac book pro 2007 model i have been using a pc for djn
now its time for a mac..wondering if theres any good tips and programs to run
and what are the best settings display,energy setting things like that..

get caffeine and smc fan control. turn off bluetooth/wi-fi and you're good to go....have fun!

and also make sure your 2007 macbook pro aint one of the ones with the nvdia glitch!

Welcome to the club!! =D little snitch is an awesome program to have ;] let's you know anytime a program is trying to connect to the internet. Also- when you're dj'ing always make sure your wi-fi and blue tooth are turned off, as stated above. As for power settings- u can make a custom profile in your system preferences. For dj'ing i would highly advise setting screen saver, sleep, display to NEVER. Other than that the stock profiles they have are sufficient for every day use ;] Enjoy!!

my laptop does fall under the glitch type of mac books
i have only one problem with it i cant see the vids on you tube that well
there green lines and crap...but this computer is just for djn so its all good..

one more thing it might be cuz of the "glitch" but when i scroll down in my library in serato and waveform flutters ..but it doesn't cause anything to happen music wise just the wave form flutter..

There is a pref, I forgot where @ the moment that you need to disable (will post later).

What happens is if somebody at the club has a Apple Remote they can beam your Macbook and throw it into Apple Front Row. Serato will still play, but launch Front Row now and take a look - it is pretty un-nerving when you are rocking a set and that takes over your screen (hit Esc button to get out of Front Row).

Ooops, nobody reads these things anyway... I guess out of respect for Bezzle, I won't post where the pref is....

lol i never did get the details for this, is that remote option on automatically and do you have to have bluetooth enables....also does it work on the unibody macs? I wanna pull this on my boy but dont wanna waste money if its not gonna work without prep...cant you pull up itunes with it too
