Serato Software Feature Suggestions

What features would you like to see in Serato software?

Version 2.0...................FLAC?

Version 2.0 and no flac...............I guess I have sell my serato box and buy something else. I figured after spending $600 the company would update the program after 4 years.
Bye Serato!

Can't you just let it go, like there is rule or something to comment everything...

Well, I guess a lame comment deserves a lame comment. I can understand the frustration, but to open up yet another FLAC-thread only to childishly comment "I did not get what I want so I'm going to sell mine"... that is bound to attract some comments.

I mean, it is no fun to not have what you wished for, but you purchase Serato for the features that it has, not for the features you think it should have and that you hope may be implemented later on. If the lack of FLAC is so important that he is unable to do what he wants and needs to sell his Serato,... then what has he been doing for the past 4 years? Was he unable to accomplish any mixing? Did the SL-box sit on his desk while he waited for FLAC to occur? Why did he buy the box in the first place then if it sucks anyway?

It's a stupid frustrated comment which will attract similar ones.

Well, THAT'S a point that everybody can and will understand.

My comment was regarding the ones made by "VJ Justin Allen" and "djdannyd". Sorry, but those were just as useful as the thread itself. It just creeps me out that there are certain people who always make comments like "I don't care about what you (just) say" but keep on commenting on like everything.

But... I don't want to get myself into this kind of discussion. I just wanted to point out that I 100% agree with the quoted part of your post.

LMAO!!! It's so funny because it's true :o) Too much people without a live have found the serato forum :o).

But in this case I could kinda understand the reaction. I like a good discussion as long as it's intelligent, civil and fun. but it annoys me sometimes that people are opening threads about the same topic over and over again. It depreciates the discussions that already exist along with it's arguments. All the info and opinions get decentralized and it becomes a pain in the ass to see all over the forum (like the millions of "when is 2.0 available"-posts).

And I especially get annoyed by people whining about their frustrations (and I do mean whining, not discussing), it displays low maturity and it is absolutely useless. As if Serato will suddenly drop everything and start working on Feature A or B, because someone says he will sell his box. Lot's of people said similar things when Traktor Skratch released their whistles and bells and yet serato still exists and is very popular with the Pros as well. It's the 'I want it and I want it now since I paid 600$ for the box and now serato has to do everything I want because i'm a customer"-attitude that irritates me. People are no longer rational. There's a saying "customer is king"... but these days people behave like their the damn emperor.

That's what bugs the hell out of me :o) .

Anyway, back on topic:

I don't really need flac since I turned to the dark side (alac) when I rebuilt my library, but I can understand why this would help several people. So, fingers crossed for you guys!

Great post Evil Banana! You will find that I and many others have said a lot of the same things you have in previous threads...however these same few people disregard it.

This thread will soon be closed...and the same people will start another one....about the exact same thing, using the exact same lame arguments.

+1 for FLAC

Serato will have signed a deal with Apple in order to use ALAC as the ALAC codec is owned by Apple. Apple wants to lock consumers into their world of closed platforms and closed codecs. Apple will have told Serato if they want to use ALAC they are not aloud to implement FLAC. They is why Serato have not said another word about FLAC since ALAC was implemented. (THEY ARE IN BED WITH APPLE)
