I was playing at a club, and when I connected to the serato hardware my computer did not show the spots for the two turntables. It was like the hardware was not recognizing the serato on my computer (it said that the hardware was not connected). can I stop that from happening. Luckily I had enough vinyl to play my set until I could play my tracks.

Hi justapunk74,
Which USB port did you have the SL 1 connected to? With Windows XP you need to install the driver for the SL 1 for every USB port. I see you did get it working eventually, what did you do to make it work?

I actually had to transfer my tracks to my friends laptop to play, but I had enough vinyl to play until then. I tried connecting the serato to each usb and none of them worked.

justapunk, what Michael was trying to say is that you have yo have the drivers installed on every USB port available on your machine, also making sure that you install the proper drivers for every piece of Rane hardware that you are using.

That's correct, thanks djdannyd :)
justapunk74, if you have this problem again try doing this to install the correct driver for your USB port:
1) Ensure Scratch Live is closed.
2) Connect the SL 1 to your computer.
3) Click the Windows Start button and go to All Programs -> Serato -> ScratchLIVE
4) In there you will see the Update Drivers program, click and run this.
5) The drivers for the SL 1 will now be installed.
