RAM & CPU Usage meter ....

Rousey 5:11 PM - 8 March, 2010
As per title a meter that shows how much RAM & CPU is being used i think would be a fantastic addition to SSL!
DJ Mat .live 8:03 PM - 8 March, 2010
very fantastic
Laz219 11:17 PM - 8 March, 2010
+1 (but as an option whether it shows or not)
Rousey 11:22 PM - 9 March, 2010
thats a good idea yes!
nik39 1:52 PM - 10 March, 2010
-1.

What for? When I am DJing I could care less about my RAM and CPU usage.

SSL works fine on my setup.
djdannyd 9:06 PM - 10 March, 2010
+1 on nik's -1

Why would you care what's your cpu usage during a set?
Dr0p 9:10 PM - 10 March, 2010
-1
serkan 9:41 PM - 10 March, 2010
+1
I'd also suggest a temperature Display that can be switchet between °C/°F
Rousey 12:04 AM - 12 March, 2010
Ok then like Laz219 said optional so those who dont want it or want it can turn it on or off!
DJ Stoyvo 9:46 PM - 12 March, 2010
This is actually a great idea. You'd be able to tell when you're about to crash so you can have your backup cd or vinyl ready. Virtual DJ has this, it has saved my asssssss lol

How would such an meter indicate an upcoming crash?
djdannyd 3:04 AM - 13 March, 2010
i think he was just being sarcastic. I hope!
nik39 3:22 AM - 13 March, 2010

djdannyd 3:32 AM - 13 March, 2010

Are you serious? so if you had such meters and they was of the scales for both ram and cpu usage you wouldn't be worried about a possible crash?

i just think that with the sl3 with 3 decks running or 2 and using sl video and fx runnings with the sp6 and then recording your set on top of all of that i think that it would be a good heads up of how your system is handling it. but thats my 2p's worth!
deepdjdanny 6:45 AM - 18 March, 2010
I use the activity monitor's little floating cpu window & move it to just under the ssl clock. not the exactly the same, but hey, at least i can see if cpu load ever drops below 100% :(
macbook 2GB core duo 2GB ram snow leopard... probably a bit old now....
_jeri_ 10:57 AM - 7 December, 2010
Again the old topic. ;) I would find a good CPU and RAM display. So I can see how busy my system. Now I have to change back and forth. Even so Itch has a CPU display, why not Scratch Live?
DJMark 9:08 AM - 10 December, 2010
I sort of use SMCFanControl (temperature readout in the Mac menubar) for this purpose. It doesn't give any readout of CPU load, but I were to see the temperature going unexpectedly way higher than normal it might give a bit of useful warning that something was going wrong.

Over the past few years, that's warned me of 1) a few videos that were really badly encoded and 2) one time when confetti-streamer stuff from exploding balloons had landed behind/under the screen, partially blocking off the Mac's ventilation.

For mac you can use iStat in the menu bar for all these readouts.
