Looking for help with ETV DVDs from the Serato VSL Crew

Hey guys - hope you all are having as much fun with video as I am.

I purchased awhile back a ton of the ETV video disks. They are old and out of print, I do not even believe the company is still in business. They contain a ton of old and very rare video tracks. I believe they were a popular choice for many years, and probably many of you have some of them.

I have been messing around with DJ Extractor a bit... and i have figured out a way to rig it into working with other dvds, as long as you have the appropriate information all set up and ready to feed into it.

This is a pretty advanced project - but alot of video guys are pretty technical when it comes to these types of things, so I assume other people may be interested in helping me getting it working 100%. I would like to share this with the serato community once I have it all polished up.

I have everything working perfectly.... all I need is a better source for the source database. I have a listing of most of the ETV dvds in terms of Artist - Title, ect, but I am lacking the correct chapter numbers to separate intro's from videos.

So my question is... does anyone have such a listing with the chapter points included?

Many thanks!

so when you purchased these DVD's didn't they come with the jewel case with all the info or are they DVD-R's of the ETV videos with no info?

For some reason, the old ETV discs would randomly have some video split into different chapters. An auto-type extractor isn't likely to work.

I just used Handbrake for the random discs I've found on ebay.

Because they're in fact discontinued, I read on DJ Extractor's forum that they don't plan on supporting them.

I read somewhere that the company was bought out by Promo Only a long time ago.

Promo Only does own the license for those videos.

Ship me all the discs and I'll rip them and properly tag them and shit them back to you.

Probably going to have to go manual on this one (no stimulation)

DJ-Phat-AL - yeah, they all came with all that information on the jewel case. I just did not feel like copying it all manually over. Additionally, I do not own all the ETV Disks (only 50 or so), and I would like to get DJ Extractor working on ALL of the disks, even the ones that I do not own. Thus I was looking for someone with a database file for all the dvds... Promo Only puts out an excellent database, as does screenplay and top hits. I figured it probably existed - and if anyone were to have it.... someone here would know about it :)

I have manually entered information from a few of my covers and I can get DJ Extractor working perfectly on those DVDs.

I would ultimately like to help out other VJs going through these DVDs.... but if nobody has the database, then I will do it all manually and live with it.

Perhaps if I call Promo Only... they might be able to help me out. I will give it a shot.

ETV went out of buisness because they didnt have rights to a big portion of the videos they printed. you could email luis. the guy that created the promo only extractor and ask him for the release dates. or use virtual dj to rip them. or if you use video editing software, you wont need to worry about split chapters.
