I'm having a problem with my iTunes library showing up in my SL. I opened SL up today, first, all of my music showed up in the All Music & Audio folders, but none of my playlists/folders showed up from iTunes. After rebooting the program a few time and getting the same result, I decided to re-install my SL program, hoping I could make the program re-import my iTunes.

After re-installing my original 1.7 version, then updating to the 1.9.2 version, now nothing is showing up in my browse/music folders. First, the 1.7 version said it could not find my iTunes Library. Next I updated to 1.9, and the program said iTunes Library Import Complete, but, nothing is showing up.

What is going on with this program and how do I make this re-import my iTunes?

Yo What Up!

Thanks for the response. Where it says All Music, All Audio and All Video, there's no drop down arrows for me to press. Hi-lighting those sections my files are showing up. When I hi-light the Library section, nothing is showing up and my folders/crates aren't there for any of these sections.

Any other suggestions?

Hi DEV THA DJ!,

If you open Windows Explorer and go to the Music/iTunes/ folder on your system drive do you see a file called iTunes Music Library.xml? If so, can you please attach it to this thread?

What Up Michael!

I'm trying to attach this xml file, and it's taking a very long time to upload. My library is pretty big, can I send this to you another way, maybe email?

Update...

I just re-opened SL again and everything loaded up like it normally would before I had these problems. I've closed and re-opened SL a couple of times within the last couple of hours and it's working fine now.

What would cause a problem like this?

Hey DEV THA DJ!,

Thanks for uploading the file. I've checked it for invalid data and it's all fine, so I'm not sure why it wasn't loading. Did you add any new files to your iTunes library in between it working and then not working with Scratch Live?

Thanks for the reply

Yes, I did add new folders to my playlists while this was going on within the last few days. So the updated data could've caused the shut down?

Here's another question for you...

I'm now having a problem when my USB is/isn't connected. During the same time that the library issue was going on, when I opened SL without it being connected to the interface, it would shut down. I got a message stating something about "Not enough Virtual Storage to perform this process". Once I plugged the usb in it would connect. I'm also getting messages stating that my Interface is Disconnected, even when it's plugged in. I've changed USB cords and I still sometime get these messages

What's up with that?

Certain characters (from the UTF 16 character encoding) in the song name tag or the filename itself can cause the iTunes Music Library.xml to not load properly (long story short: the XML file only supports UTF 8 character encoding, but iTunes will write UTF 16 characters to it which makes the file invalid for Scratch Live). Did you add any files with any alternate characters in them?

That sounds like you don't have enough virtual memory set on your computer. How much RAM do you have? Take a look at this article and try increasing your virtual memory -> windows.microsoft.com

Does this happen on all your USB ports or just one? First of all I'd suggest going to your computer manufacturers website and see if there are any USB driver updates available. If this issue happens again, try this:

1) Ensure Scratch Live is closed.
2) Connect the SL 1 to your computer.
3) Click the Windows Start button and go to All Programs -> Serato -> ScratchLIVE
4) In there you will see the Update Drivers program, click and run this.
5) The drivers for the SL 1 will now be installed.

Please let me know how you get on :)
