Windows Virtual Machine???

djsample 9:53 PM - 6 March, 2010
Now that most newer computers are coming stock with Windows 7 64bit or the Ultimate version, and Serato isn't supported on Windows 7 yet. (not even sure about 64 bit platforms) Has anyone tried running Windows virtual machine on their PC? I was going to revert back to Windows XP entirely but given that this laptop is very very new, I'm not sure that there is drivers for some of its components supporting XP? So is Windows Virtual Machine an option??? Specially for running video..... I actually have it running audio just fine but the video is freezing up and I believe its due to Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. 6gigs of ram and almost 3gigs of video ram..... I would think this could handle video no problem..

that's a bad idea... you could make it so most of your ram would be used by the virtual os BUT you'd have less ram to run the actual virtual machine. and even then you'd have to share that split ram with videoSL. Unless you have 8 gigs of ram in the laptop and a really nice video card, it'd be likely to fail.
You're better off taking your chances at just running SL with windows 7.

boooooooo..... not what I wanted to hear....lol.... way too mant drop outs with 7. And thats what I figured about virtual machine and the ram. I just figured this thing was beasty enough to do it.... and you were the second person to say it wasnt worth the effort... Well it looks like I'm gonna try to revert back to XP entirerly.... keep your fingers crossed for me

just run a dual boot setup. with a "beasty" machine im sure you have the drive space for it. use xp for djing and 7 for daily shit.

erhm... just took a look at the products-page and there it mentions Windows 7 under minimum requirements so I would suppose 7 is supported after all?
