Fader 1 Left Volume fade contour doesn't work

I just got a used 57 off ebay and everything works great but the left fader contour doesn't work. It only cuts the volume fast like the cross fader. I like to have the contour on my faders slow so I can gradually adjust the volume when mixing. Any tips on fixing this problem like cleaning the fader or do I have to get a new volume fader?

maybe dirty or could be wires loose inside.i would contact rane.
