Hey all, haven't posted much so -- hey!

I'm about to begin the arduous task of archiving all my vinyl with SL 1 and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good quality phono pre-amp? There are tonnes out there, so personal experience always speaks volumes over product descriptions.

Another quick question, can you archive vinyl with the SL 3?

I know there are some other topics on this subject, but no one specifically mentions pre-amps.

your dj mixer is your pre-amp

yeah you can archive vinyle with the SL 3 and it'll probably sound better as well....

Try and find an old Rane PS1...def one of the best phono preamps around. SL3 should work pretty good too though.

Agreed but they aren't always great sound wise for that sort of thing if you are serious about archiving. Don't get me wrong I use my Vestax 05 for archiving most of the time but would prefer an actual stand alone phono pre amp.
