I am new with video mixing but im not sure if what i have will work with the Video SL.
this is what i got...

Rane TTM-56
SL3
AKAI midi/sampler
Technics 1210

Is there a video out there that will show my how to hook up my VSL up to my SL3 using my RANE TTM-56.

you need a midi controller to able to control effects of vsl.

You just hook it up like you normally would. The video output comes from your laptop, you just have to set your display settings such that your output display is not mirroring your primary display. Unless you have a midi controller, you will need to crossfade video seperately with either the arrow keys or a mouse.

I'm more curious why so many people insist on calling VSL SVL.

SVL = "Scratch Video LIVE" ???

VSL = Video-SL (actual name) :)

i will work fine i do video with sl1,ttm56,1200....no midi

your AKAI midi/sampler should work for effects/crossfading of the video if mapped correctly.
