Weird static from aux out / headphones...

I have a really weird static problem which I can't seem to figure out.
I've connected the aux out of my TTM57 to the aux in of my computer speakers, and its outputting quite a loud static signal, not just noise also a slight buzzing. Here are the strange things about it:
- It happens when the mixer is turned off as well as on!
- It actually gets louder when the mixer is switched off
- It stops when the mixer is unplugged
The headphones also register some static but slightly differently:
- Its not as loud and is just noise, no buzzing
- It does stop when the mixer is switched off (but still plugged in)
- It stops when the mixer is unplugged from the computer speakers, at either end of the connection
- If I put the headphone volume up the static sound fades away when the volume reaches 12 o'clock (5/10), then reintroduces itself when maxing out the volume (which is understandable). I usually don't put the headphone volume past about 9 o'clock (2/10) as it gets pretty loud!
I'm completely stumped by this one... any ideas??
Cheers!

Make sure that both things are plugged into the same powerstrip.
If it continues try lifting the ground on the mixer by using a plug adapter.
good luck.

I tried plugging them into the same powerstrip but its still happening. I also plugged the mixer into the main socket by itself but that didn't make any difference either.
What do you mean by "lifting the ground on the mixer by using a plug adapter"?
I found some more weirdness btw! The buzzing carries on even when the power is switched off at the wall socket (for the mixer, not the speakers). I have to actually physically unplug it for it to stop. I really don't get it because I thought turning it off at the wall socket would cut the connections!
