so i wanted to start with a clean slate on my macbook pro, i was using 10.5.6 and wanted to upgrade to 10.5.8. so i formatted my shit and used to original install discs. and thats when the problem started, it was 10.4 disc. and i cant upgrade from that version to 10.5.8. it says i have to upgrade to 10.5. but there is no version of that on the apple site....
any suggestions?

software update?
it usually installs to the latest version it can... and then checks for more updates to install on top that.

10.4 is Tiger and 10.5 is Leopard. You need to find your 10.5 disc or if this is a new machine you need to find the original install disc.

yeah, i bought the mac off of someone from craigslist.. so i dont have the cds. does that mean i have to go buy them ?
