do you hate when people call you "DJ"? (unless of course that it your name)

i for one get a little errked as "DJ" is my title and "Audissey" is my name. its like calling your mechanic, mechanic. no, you say his name not "hey, mechnic"...

i unno, just wondered if i'm the only one who feels this way. not a big deal but a little pet peeve of mine.

yeah, i got some douchebags in my city that are kind of popular, and know me thru some friends and always say hi to me. but for some reason when they see me at breakfast or out.. they say what ups DJ!

i became a DJ for many reasons other than a "title"...work on your english or find a better software for translating...wtf is titul? lmao.

i guess my problem is that i am a grammar freak and it really irritates me when people do this. i've had this conversation with some of my peers in this market and they agreed, just wondered if yall felt the same way.

if he has skills like that from just wanting the title that makes it more pathetic for the people who taker it seriously and still dont throw down like he does lol, mabye more people should focus on the title cause it seems to have gotten him pretty far

The only one I can think of I hear a lot is people saying "hey, waiter" at restaurants and shit.

Being called DJ doesn't ever bother me though.

oh well, i just got called "dj" like it was my name quite a bit when i was a guest entertainer on cruise ships. thats when it irritated me.

when i did it, i was a guest entertainer so it was hella dope. they offered me a staff position but that shit is wack so i turned it down.

DJ Dollar also works on ships, i haven't done one since 2007 so he might be more knowledgeable if you had any questions.

it is A LOT of fun and there are a lot of perks, but like i said, you gotta be guest entertainer or it sucks.

Don't ever take a staff job on a cruise ship unless you're from a 3rd world country and have a family you need to send money to. It's not a way to "see the world." It's a low paying job where you work 7 days a week, eat shitty food, and rarely get off the ship to see anything.

A guest entertainer, on the otherhand...is dope. you get passenger status so you can eat the gourmet cruise food whenever/wherever, you almost never work during the day when the ship is in port and if you do it's usually on some island on the beach, so you get to see all the places you go...the money is decent, and since its all inclusive, you don't really spend much of anything so you pocket all the money you make.

I do guest ent work for Princess....royal Caribbean is also a good one, however, I've heard bad things about carnival and holland america (a carnival DJ told me he is only allowed to play CDs they provide for him, meaning you can't use serato and you can't play anything they don't give you, so no new music, etc.)

I have one step worst... I dont remember the name of the cruiseline... I think they are associated with Royal though... they are way high class. anyway, they wanted me to be one of their DJ's and go all around the mediterrian. spain, france greece blah blah blah... sounded way cool until they told me that they have those numark TT things that have the built in hard drives.... thats all i could use and all i could play...

Everythings else sounded cool, but having been a DJ as long as i have, I use my equpt because i've used everything else out there and choose this.

The dude in charge "is a" DJ he said that he loves the equpt and was talking it up for a while. then i said "sorry... that shit annoys me... get a juke box if you want to limit people like that"

well, most people call me audissey...and when i was a AT/FP Officer, people called me by my last name so your logic doesn't apply here =P
