Okay, I've figured out how to record a set, but need some more info guys. If I want to turn this set into a CD, how do I go about that? I've recorded it, labeled it, and saved it. Now I think it is in AIFF format or something like that, but it would need to be in mp3 format to burn to a disc. Any help? Also, anyone know how to add tracks to it instead of it always being one long track? Help!

No, going to MP3 before burning an audio CD is a mistake. Unless the set is longer than ~65 min and you are looking to make a data CD with the set on it as an MP3?

wav and aiff are lossless file formats. mp3 is a lossy file format. if you are going to burn to cd, burn to cd audio straight from the aiff.
if you were to go from aiff, then to mp3, then to cd audio, you will lose a bit of audio quality. it might not be noticeable but just letting you know

I was thinking about making an 80 minute mix. Can someone just tell me how to get it off Serato and then make a CD? I don't care what format it's in, but I just need to make a master CD and then make dupes of that one. It would be great if someone knew how to make tracks also.

80 minutes is really too long for a Redbook Audio CD (e.g., one that anyone can throw in any CD player and just listen to). At 80 minutes, you'd have to do a data CD and make it a WAV or MP3 file, but then most people will only be able to listen to it on their computer or copy to their PMP (e.g., an iPod).
(Technically CD-DA can be up to 79.8 minutes (see en.wikipedia.org for more details). However, many consumer CD players have trouble out at the extreme edges of the disc and so you can get people complaining that your disc has errors. Thus, it's smarter to stick with something closer to 60-65 minutes max.)
As to making a CD, you need CD burning software that knows how to write out a RedBook CD. I believe most support this. Check the docs for whatever software you have. If you don't have a burning package, then look into something like Sony's CD Architect on Windows or Toast on a Mac. They should be able to read the AIFF file created by Serato directly and convert it to CDDA for the CD.

Use Nero 9 if you are using a pc. Nero will read and write AIFF and WAV files. You Can also make tracks so you don't have one long mix.

I'm actually trying to do the same thing here, any update on this yet? I hear some people use Audacity and that it's free, does Nero 9 cost anything? I was trying to use Sonic record now and it didn't work may have been able to save as a data cd if it was a little shorter but not sure how the audio would have turned out.

if your using pc it should have saved it into my documents/my music/serato/recording
as for apple try checking your music folder then for something serato then recordings folder. after that i usually just use iTunes and either burn a cd from there or use it to convert to mp3 then make a mp3 cd. for info on that search google for itunes mp3 converter. for separating mix into tracks i herd nero 9 has some tools and also search google for music track splitter for possible free programs

I just got the 57 and I was wondering the same thing. HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET IT ON CD.. Then I figured this out, but its way tooo complicated.
Burn your mix using the 57.
Once the mix is done put serato in INT. mode
Connect a cd recorder (sony is the one I have) to your AUX plug on your mixer.
Start playing the mix from the laptop and hit record on the CD BURNER.
Some might ask, WHY NOT USE THE BURNER TO BEGIN WITH?
Answer, not all djs are perfect. The cd burner needs CDs. If you mess up you have to start all over. And by doing this, it will shorten the length of your mixer. By starting with the 57, you can erase the mix and start fresh. Once you think you got it down, you can start recording. Thats how Im going to put it on a disc..
YOU CAN ONLY USE HOME AUDIO CDS (by tdk or sony) and NOT DATA CDS on the burner. It wont read the data cds.
I know its a lot of steps but I havent figured out an easy way to convert into MP3. Hope this helps.

djaward that is like the hardest way to make the cd.
Let's not over complicated things.
1.Record your mix on serato.
2.Once your done, save it.
3. click on the recording, and hit command + R to open it in mac finder
4. drag and drop the file on itunes, and create a playlist with it
5. burn it to cd
it's that simple

Yeah I know lol.. On itunes, can you change the format into MP3? Or burn it as MP3?

there is no need to change to MP3.
when you burn the cd, burn it straight from AIFF to CD Audio
(it will do this automatically if you just click ok)

dude use a daw. it will change your life. post-production will really make your shit stand out. none of my mixes leave my studio without going thru major tom, urs and ssl eq/compressors. i use cubase (sometimes cakewalk). but even audacity or sound forge will work.
the beauty of it is if you still want to record with the sl you can. just import the aiff into your daw.

if dude is asking how to burn a mix to cd, then I think it's safe to assume a DAW is way too much for him right now

Digital Audio Workstation (Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, etc) sometimes referred to as multi-track sequencers, or post-production software.
Audacity, Sound Forge, Wave Lab, etc are really audio editors that are capable of recording.

when recording you want to turn the gain up on the "recording gain" knob to get the peaks right under peaking (red)
also if you have a daw, you can throw it in there when finished and master it. I personally put mine in logic and put a compressor and limiter on it
