HI, I am running P'nT Pro on a HD7 system with snow leo and a new intel. almost every time i use the plug it crashes my entire system to the point of a restart. I have tried everything from a re-install to database trashing to reinstalation of mac os combo updates etc... i'm en engineer so i do this stuff all the time with other plugs and software. i'm convinced that you need to release an update for snow leopard... since i was not having any of these issues with ur plug until i made the update on my os... all my other plugs work great so i know its not a system wide defect... only with Pn'T Pro.
PLEASE HELP!!!! this is my favorite plug!

Hi Noel,
We've tested Pitch 'n Time 2.5 with Pro Tools 8.0.3 on Snow Leopard. I notice that you said you are using Pro Tools 7, according to DigiDesign this version is not compatible with Snow Leopard and this could be causing your problem (even though your other plug-ins seem to work fine). DigiDesign have released Pro Tools 8.0.3 which is Snow Leopard compatible -> www.digidesign.com (click link). If that still doesn't work please let me know :)

Hey Noel,
No worries, sorry I read that the wrong way ;) So are you running 8.0.3? Also no other reports yet, but you may be the first :)

yes sir. 8.0.3... if you have an email addy i can send screen shots.
i've boiled it down to 2 problems:
1. on an average of 1 and 3, when i launch the plug and attempt to process an adjustment to an audio region, the audio is processed as two solid tones and no audio can be heard... i know is sounds weird but, imagine if you pri nt 1 second of 1k tone, thats how PnT processes the region, and the resulting tone file is either to high or to low in pitch to be audible. only remedy is to quit and relaunch pro tools.
2. if i leave the Pn'T plugin open while i run protools, the plug will eventually cause the system to malfunction and crash. at this point a full restart of the computer and sometimes PT hardware is required.
please lemme know what you come up with... THANKS!

Was this every remedied? I'm seeing exactly the same thing (not the crashes so much, but definitely the bad renders - blocks of what looks like DC signal). PnT will behave for a while and then I do a render and blam - block of tone. Can only recover by rebooting ProTools, at which time PnT behaves for a while and then same thing again.

Hi Peter,
We've had reports of this issue happening if the audio has been processed using another audio suite plug-in prior to using Pitch 'n Time. If Pitch 'n Time is the first plugin used then this problem does not happen - hence why in your case rebooting Pro Tools solves the issue. Does this sound like what is happening to you?

Hi Michael,
Not sure if this was the case, but I'm in some intensive work at the moment so I'll keep an ear out for that sequence of events. I used PnT today quite often with no consequences, so I'll keep you posted. I was having the issue numerous times last week and have changed nothing since then.
Best
Peter.

Michael,
I can reliably reproduce this problem by following these steps:
1. Make a ProTools session and import an audio region onto a track
2. Use either ProTools DigiRack 7 band EQ or Compressor to hard render the region
3. Then invoke PnT and hard render that region.
This will always give me what appears to be a region of solid DC. From this point on, PnT will not function correctly until ProTools is rebooted.
Best

Hey Peter,
That sounds exactly like the issue! We are working on a fix for this but don't have a date for release yet. In the meantime as a workaround, if you're wanting to use Pitch 'n Time Pro you'll need to make sure that it is the first plug-in used in the session.
