Ok thanks. There is a bug in the latest version of QuickTime (7.6.4+) that causes Video-SL to crash. You can read more here -> www.serato.com (click link).

Ok i rolled back QuickTime to v7.6.2 and the video now works....Thank you....any fix for windows in the works?
Also....new problem....the video is real choppy and sometimes just hangs.....for mp3s i set my USB Buffer to about 3.....for video does that need to increase significantly or is there another issue for the extreme delay/choppiness of the vidz?
Thanks again!

It could be because your using windows 7. From what ive read XP is the way to go. I went from vista 64 to xp32 and my performance went way up.

Guys windows 7 seems to be working fine for me with videos. I have been using it for 2 weeks with no problems. These are my specs..
Asus G51
320 gig hard drive
4 gigs of ram
64 bit
nvidia gtx 260 m 1 gb
I suggest using higher end laptops like asus, and Sony vaio because of higher computer hardware specs. Toshiba, Gateway, and hp computer tend to have lower specs which can cause glitching and freezing of the videos. Also if you do a upgrade to windows 7 MAKE SURE YOU GET THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR HARDWARE !!!! If you upgrade to windows 7 without updating the drivers IT WILL NOT WORK RIGHT !!!!!

Hey djdrknss,
With the specs of your computer you should set your Video-SL buffer to about 1GB. Another thing I would check is that your graphics card drivers are up to date by going to your laptop manufacturers website.

i believe i have the latest driver for my video card...thats the first thing i checked with my first problem.
even when i increase the video-sl performance buffer to 2GB i still get choppy videos....and if i load a 2nd video onto the other deck to start cueing it to mix into i notice that my fps drops by half!!!

Ok, can you please open the Video-SL setup panel, go to the Output tab and tell me:
1) What do you have the quality set to?
2) Do you have the "use frame blending" option checked?
3) Do you have the "use v-sync" option checked?
Another thing that may help is if I can get some more detailed info on your video files. Can you please download movieinfobatch and read the article on how to use it -> www.serato.com (click link). Could you then drop a couple of files you are having this choppy performance with into movieinfobatch and cut and paste the info into this thread.
Thanks :)

Sorry to side track...
I'm planning on getting a Asus G51Jx. It has a GeForce® GTS 360M GPU.
I have a few questions for you:
1> How has VSL been running for you?
2> Do you get all the effects?
3> Do you have frame blending & v-sync on?
Thanks bro,

If it's a dual-core it's prolly a little better than the quad cores. There's an issue that Asus hasn't solved yet with 1.1 USB & i-series processors. I have a G71 and a G73. If you can get the G73 I can tell you that just disabling the driver for the wireless devices runs Video SL flawlessly.
