ill be doing a wedding this saturday, my company will do the video,picture and dj, however this is the first time ill be mixing video, i thought it would be cool to do a picture slide from the pictures taken earlier when the groom and the bride arrived at the hall, i have a macbook besides the one ill be using for djing, so i ordered an hdmi switch, and hdmi adaptor for my laptop and a cable, and i was thinking doing just a regular slideshow, the problem is, i was thinking that how im i gonna make my secondary screen(2x40" lcd's) play the slide show,without having to go with the laptop literally on the dance floor to strech the window, so ill cover the full screen on the lcd's? if anyone has a better idea, or how to do this please let me know, thanks!!

I would make those pictures a video file like a quick slide show [make sure its avi or mp4] and simply play it as you would with any video.

Why don't you run the slideshow on the second screen on your computer using a simple slideshow viewer?
I don't know if you're PC or Mac but there's tons of options out there that are free.

Or even on the main laptops secondary display.
Or even load them onto a flash card, put it in a digital camera and use the slideshow capability 90% of current cameras have.

thats exactly what i had in mind, but to do a simple slide show i need to drag that window to the right(into the secondary screen witch is a 40 " lcs) and resize it in order to fill the whole screen, and to resize that i have to go around the dj booth with the laptop, click on a corner and enlarge it, and it will look kinda funny you know,lol, thats what i was trying to avoid,unless theres a function that i can click from my macbook to make the secondary screen go full screen,just like video sl has that fullscreen button next to setup,thanks anyway douggy fresh!

use VLC media player.
in VLC player,
go to---> preferences, --->video , -----> Full screen video device --> select screen 2.
also uncheck "black screen in fullscreen mode"
then you can play your slideshow fullscreen on the secondary display.

Just noticed in quicktime 7.6.2
under preferences --> Fullscreen
you can change which display is used for fullscreen.

if u use a mac the slideshow is very easy to do it with iphoto. I'm telling you because I sometimes do it in gigs the same way u wanna do it.

thanks, i end up doing it with the macbook with iphoto, the trick is to set mirror screens and whatever you see in the macbook you see in the secondary screen, without that little check in the box setting, it would be so difficult to drag the screen to the right to the secondary screen, so bottom line it can be done,and very easy, so for those who dont know, just plug the secondary screen with the hdmi to dvi connector and go to settins,displays and detect displays, when the settings for the secondary screen come out just check mirror displays and thats it, thanks to anyone trying to help,peace!!

Jbnyc, so were the people excited about how they saw photos from earlier that day?
I want to do the same thing on the 23rd with my MacBook pro and am confused if you had one or 2 screens up? I only have one screen with rear projection. I wanna put the slide show when I am playing songs with no video througout the night.
Thanks in advance,
mo

i was playing a slide show here...

Nice set up bro. What switcher did you use? I have my hp laptop that I can use for that. I will be displaying the photos on a 7x10 projector screen. I might have my assistant (17 year old nephew) take photos during the event and I can upload those too! This forum is so damn helpful man. Good luck in 2010 JB.

thats EXACTLY what I would have done.
running a slide show on any computer should be no sweat.
my wife has a dell studio, I just load (and you can do this almost instantly...loading pix from the actual wedding via thumb drive)
then switching between the 2 is a simple as a click.
someone in the board also does sometihing simular but they have a live-feed
video running onto the screens too...]]

I probably just need a VGA switcher but will I lose a lot of quality for my videos? What kind of switch will I need to run a live feed from my HD Sony sr-11?
To be honest I don't have 1k to pay for a switcher. I have my MacBook pro for videos a 3 year old high end (hp, if possible) laptop for photos and would love to run a live feed with my HD camcorder if possible to my projector screen.
Any recommendations on an affordable switcher that will make all 3 possible?
