I'm used to using Denon 3700's with Serato SSL, so I feel like a bit of a newbie when dealing with Itch controllers.
This may be a more generalized Itch question, but I am trying to figure out the best approach to resetting the starting Cue point when its been moved accidentally later into the track. This happens when you, for example, hit Play while auditioning a track to stop it. Hitting Cue at that point moves the Cue pointer to that spot.
So, aside from spinning the little platter back or reloading the entire track, what is the best way from the HC5000 to reset that starting cue point or even jump back to the beginning of the track quickly? I hope the answer is not to go in and predefine and save starting cue points for 18,000 tracks.... I just want a way to always go to the beginning of the track... preferably to the beginning of the first non-silent part of the track.
Thanks.

You can set your multiple cue points in ssl and itch once they are set they won't move around unless u change them your self. Temporay cue (white arrow flags) you can set with the play pause button and then hitting cue. That won't be saved. Hope I helped or do I need to elaborate more

Thanks raequan.
Yeah, I was hoping to have to avoid defining starting cue points for every song in my library up front.... seems like there ought to be a way to jump to the starting point of a track, regardless of the current cue pointer... the way I'm having to do right now takes way too long and I mix in and out of songs fast.
Anybody else have any other tricks for resetting to the beginning of a track?

Hey Crazy Craig,
Are you looking to have the song strat from the begining of the track when you load it on to the deck? If it is all you need to do is go into setup, then palyback tab, and highlight "PLay from Start" and deselect "Play from first que point". This will always put the marker at the begining of the track when you load it on to a deck. Hope this helps

Thanks, DJMIA.... got that part....
however, sometimes as I am cueing up the next track to mix in, the current cue point gets moved further into the track beyond where it started... not always, but sometimes.
I need to be able to get back to the beginning of the track when this situation occurs without:
1) reloading the track
2) spinning the jog wheel/platter all the way back to get to the beginning and reset the cue point.
3) Setting saved cue points for 15,000 tracks just to get this ability.
Surely you can reset the "current" (white) cue pointer back to the beginning of the track (or the beginning of the playable sound in the track) without doing any of the items above....

You can use the |<< Previous Track button to jump back to the start of a track :)

Hi also have the DNHC5000, and have found this problem,
Your previewing a track, you decided what you want to do you pause it and then forget and hit cue to take it back to the begining, inseted it sets this as the new cue piont.
Hitting the |<< key actually tends to take you back to the previous track not the beginning of the current one. (Note I am using 1.5 not sure if this makes a difference) What would really be ideal would be if there was a way to reset/clear out the cue point that has been set.
I believe that for this controller at lest holding shift and pressing cue would be an intuitive trigger for an action to clear out any set cue point as it mimics the action to remove the loop points.

Hi Dj Pyub,
The |<< button should only take you to the previous track if the playhead is at the 0.01 position or less. If you're at less than 0.01 you can use the jog wheels to scroll back to the start. Not the best solution I know, but it is a workaround :)
I agree, that would make sense. I'll forward this idea on to the ITCH team and see what they say :)
