Hi
This might have been mentioned before but I cannot find any previous posts so apologies if it has.

My video effects aren't saving when applying them to both .mov files and and mp3's linked to .mov files.

They have always saved in the past either through the offline player or main software.

I thought the database V2 file had become currupt so I recreated one but it still didn't solve the issue.
I then reinstalled 1.9.2 and created a new database file and it worked.....Only for a day. I can't find any pattern in why the video effects stopped saving....

Any ideas guys?
Thanks in advance

How and where is all of your music and videos stored?

If you convert a video to MP4, do you have the same problem?

Are all of your files mov?

Which video effects are you trying to save?

Hi mate
thanks for getting back to us on this.

All files are stored currently on my internal HD
The library is made up of MOV, MP4 and AVI's. All had the issue

I have just re-installed scratch live and created a new database template which again worked and I could save the effects on the videos.
But When I closed SL and went back in I had the re-occuring problem. I have noticed that when loading a video onto the offline player it remembers the previous effects from the last video loaded and then won't save a changed effect. Have you seen this before?

I can confirm I am using Quicktime 7.6.4 if this helps troubleshoot
Thanks again

Are you using video SL 1.1.1?

Download from the link below.
scratchlive.net

How much free space do you have on the internal HD?
RadioSam 9:47 AM - 13 November, 2009
Hi
I beleive I was running 1.1.0
Thanks for download I have installed and restarted. Same issues I am afraid
The effects where ale to be saved when launching VSL for the first time but then when closing the application and re-entering it wouldn't save and would revert to 'Empty' or to the previous clips effect.
I have uploaded a screen video of what is happening for you to view the issue.
Is this some sort of corrupt pref? Funny that it works when reinstalling before closing the application.

Hope you can help.

I was using 1.9.2 / 1.1.1 MAC osx 10.5.6 and was able to get the same thing to happen.

The "save effects" button was still highlighted but the effects didn't remain, the slots were empty.

I might try renaming the databaseV2 file. Close Scratch Live.

Open Macintosh Hd / Music / ScratchLIVE

You should see "DatabaseV2". Rename that "DatabaseV2BROKEN"

Open Scratch Live and try setting the effects and closing / opening again.

Hi

I tried this but the issue still remains.
Did you manage to sort yours by renaming the database? and is this a known bug?

Like I said before on reinstallation it will work for the first few attempts then restarting the software it won't.
Any more ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hey, I've duplicated this on a couple machines now. I renamed the databaseV2 file, but that didn't help either.

I'll ask the developers for some help.

Many thanks Chad, Look forward to hearing from your findings

Just a heads up.. this appears to be a bug in either 1.9.2 or VSL 1.1.1.

The developers will be looking into it.
In the meantime you could downgrade to SSL version 1.8.3 and VSL 1.0.2 to avoid the problem.

Hi Zach
Thanks for the information, Don't really want to downgrade on this as I will lose many new features. Any idea's when the patches will be released? I am sure you understand the importance for this to work for playing out at events. Has any one else had the same issue? Seems strange that there is no other posts online? If you coild let me know that would be great.

Try 1.9.1 and video Sl 1.1.0

Yes that combination of SL/VSL versions seem to hold the saved effects.
I will give it a thorough change and mix over the weekend and let you know any different. Do you know when you will be releasing the patched versions?
Cheers for your help.

Not sure on any release dates as of now. Glad to hear that the effects hold in those other versions.
RadioSam 11:44 AM - 23 December, 2009
Hi
Is there any update as to why this is happening on 1.9.2 for me or if there is going to be an update of the software soon?
I don't see having to roll back to 1.9.1 is a solution for this?
Surely RANE should have a solution for this?
Please let me know

This is still not working for me unless I run 1.9.1 and VSL 1.1.0.
I want to upgrade and no combinations work above these serato releases.
Please advise

This seems to be a bug which is why there isn't a fix yet. Hopefully once we launch the new verisons of Scratch Live and Video SL, this problem will be corrected.
RadioSam 8:28 PM - 12 April, 2010
This is still a problem even with the new released version of Serato 2. Can you please advise as to when this might be solved. When are you realing the new release of VSL.

This is something we hope to solve in the new video Sl version. It should be out within the next month or two.
