Clicking Private Discussions Brings up Blank Screen

Can't believe there isn't a thread about this already...I know lots of people with this issue. I'm on Windows XP, using Google Chrome, but I've had the same problem with IE and Firefox. I know some Mac users have this issue too.

When I click on the Your Private Discussions link, most of the time I get a blank page. Sometimes if I refresh I can get to my private messages, sometimes I can't. Sometimes clearing the browser cache fixes it, sometimes not. Right now, I can't get to my private messages at all, for the past 2 days...the only way I can get into a private message is if someone posts in it, then I can click the link generated with their name and it takes me into that particular private message thread, but I can't get to the main private message page.

Really annoying, and this has been going on since the change to the boards. I'm using scratchlive.net, don't like serato.com

That's very weird. Never had this problem myself.

You say other people are having this problem. Where have you heard that? No one's bought this issue to my attention until now.

The next time it happens could you, as an experiment, try using serato.com. I'd like to know if this problem only effects scratchlive.net.

I did that earlier and I was able to get in on the first try at serato.com so I didn't try further. Let me go ahead and try a few more times. Also I asked the people who had mentioned also having this problem to come post in this thread.

Nope...just got a blank screen on Serato.com too.

ps. Basic...the ONLY way I can get into a private discussion is by clicking on the persons name (link) in my right side menu. Whenever I click on the "Private disccussions" link it's just a blank page.

Firefox & safari, same result

and that shows Prinvale is on a mac...so it's not a PC only issue.

OK, cool - thanks guys.

I have an idea as to what's causing this. You're right: not a browser or OS thing - it's something in the back end.

Not a quick and easy thing to fix unfortunately, but it's on my radar.

Cool thanks...a few of us had talked about this a while ago and I just assumed someone had posted here about it, but after a frustrating 20 minutes of trying to get into my older PMs, I came here to check the status and saw nothing about it.

If you need me to do anything to test further, let me know.

Yup....still happening. I cleared my browser cache (google chrome) and tried and still got the blank page.

Interestingly it's only Your Private Discussions. Your Started Discussions and Tracked Discussions work just fine.

if ya'll want a quick fix just take out the www part of the url

so instead of www.scratchlive.net

do scratchlive.net

I still can't get into them, but getting rid of the www seems to be working

Sweet :) It was a memory usage problem. Discussions with lots of participants were using up more memory than they should.
