Does anyone know how to hide a certain file type in windows? For example. Say I wanted to hid all .mp3 files in windows. Is there anyway to do that?
The reason I ask is some of the programs I use create batch files next to the original mp3. I want to hide all of those.

Have you tried Folder Lock? I know you said files but this program hides folders.

yea they are next to the files. See, I put them in mixmeister and it creates a batch file right next to the mp3. They are all called "track.mxm"
I want to hide all the .mxm files in windows. I can do it folder by folder but i want to do it for everything...grrr

Anytime i make an edit i make copies of the original tracks, and copy them into a folder for the edit im making thats far away from my music collection, this keeps all these files, in my case audition .PK files out of my music collection, BUT, if you want to hide em.
Create a batch file with the following line, run the batch file to hide all the files. This only works on an as needed basis it wont automatically hide new files.
attrib +r +s +h c:\*.asd /s /d
If you want to see them again then run this batch:
attrib -r -s -h c:\*.asd /s /d
This works on XP didnt test on the others. You can change the '.asd' to whatever file type you want.
I take no responsibility for you jacking up your machine cuz you dont know what your doing.
Have fun.

All this will do is hide the .asd at the end of the filename, it will still show the file. It says hide "extensions" not hide files. So instead of showing filename.asd it will show just 'filename'.

To make a batch file create a new text document save it, rename it to filename.bat instead of filenamt.txt.
