I recently got a new macbook and just installed Serato 1.9.2. My PC always saved the waveforms after I listened to my songs all the way through, but for some reason they wont save on my mac. I am using mp3 files at 320kbs and still nothing. I find that re-loading the song at all erases the waveform after its been created. Is there a special folder I need to keep files in to make the waveforms save? -or- should this do it automatically and I just have some sort of setting issue?
On a side note, can you have saved waveforms on an external hardrive to be use from one computer to another?

Your external HD is probably NTFS format. To check this - hold down Ctrl and click on the external HD icon which is on your desktop and select Get Info. Under format it should say NTFS.
This format of external HD cannot be written to by a MAC.
Is this the case for you?

Do you mean the lock to the left in the file description? Either way no lock left or right on my songs.
I don't have an external HD, I just wanted to know if it would work on my mac before I go out an buy one.

Yes an external will work on your MAC as long as its not NTFS format.
Also - try closing down SSL:
Go to the Mac HD/Music/ScratchLIVE folder and give the databaseV2 file a different name. Any name.
Then open the program - let it scan tags and see if the overviews save.

Nope still doesn't work. I've tried putting the files both in and out of itunes, changed the name of that file in both the backup and regular SSL folder. Any other ideas?

I have noticed that files from whitelabel.net keep their waveforms, is this because they're pre-inserted into the WL.net files or do you think my mp3 files are corrupt or something?

Found another topic about this today with some other suggestions. Tried erasing my ID3 tags in iTunes, with no luck. I've been using Serato for years now. Do you think it's because I use older hardware? I mean that technically I have the SSL-1 but its ancient.
Maybe it's just because I have a Mac. Your help forum seemed to have this problem with someones PC that the conversion from 1.9.1 to 1.9.2 helped his issue, is it possible that I'll have to wait for another update? -or- Do you guys have another ideas?
P.S. if you want me to send you pics or a vid of what happens I'd be happy to do so, cuz I'm truly at a loss :(

Ok I figured it out. Autofill Overviews wasn't selected. As soon as I checked the box it started saving the waveforms. Never needed had to use this in the past, but I'm simply glad it's working ok, thanks for the help either way :)
