Thanks for the feedback guys. Keen to see what you guys can come up with.... It's pretty limiting, but fun to mess with.
*Serato staff by the way ;)

the problem is that once you've committed a layer, there's no way to remove it. I used to do stuff like this on my EFX a lot.
Stuff like this is likely a pre-cursor to some of what will be available in the ableton/serato partnership.
imagine being able to do all that, then at the push of a button, you can remove the high hats or switch out a snare with a fill, and then bring it all back again - seamlessly in serato.

cool... but isn't this a part of what ableton can already do live with those pedal switches? or is there a whole lot more that i'm missing

i've been messing around with this for about a year now. it's cool but it's not a versatile as a dedacated phrase loop or using ableton for loooping.
i really wish rane would devolope a more usable phrase loop function but, who knows what the ableton/serato partnership will bring.
phrase looping in serato has been at the top of my list since i got my 57.

yes, but in order to do it you need to have both serato and ableton open, and have the audio from serato loop back into your computer (or into a 2nd computer) which also leads to potential latency...
I'm envisioning that you can accomplish that shit directly in serato (or at least internally feed the audio of ableton out through serato or vice versa). I dunno but i think it would be pretty dope.
