Suitability of TTM57SL for permanent club installs

Three places I handle sound for are getting Serato installed this month. One of them is an SL1 with an existing MP44. For the other two, new mixers are required and I'm seriously contemplating fitting both with the TTM57SL.
I'm first wondering if anyone else here has permanently installed the 57, and what kind of results you've had so far.
Specifically, I'm concerned with: durability of the joysticks under heavy (ab)use, the possibility of the effects being inadvertently engaged in a situation where someone's not using SSL and doesn't know what the buttons do, and if there've been any "stability" type issues (it's kind of a computer-in-a-mixer, after all). Also just interested to hear people's general impressions when used in a permanent install.
My one little disappointment with the 57 so far (I've owned one myself for a few weeks and didn't think of this until I put my "installer" hat on): no digital output. This came to mind because one place will have a Rane RPM26z www.rane.com controlling the sound system...and that nice AES/EBU digital input on the RPM26z will go to waste (as well as the neccesary analog connections putting the sound through an otherwise un-needed D-A-->A-D conversion).
Any opinions and enlightenment would be much appreciated.

My crossfader has gotten iffy after using it in clubs, perhaps from dragging it around in a dj trolley with records and macbook.
Problems for an all out analog/cd dj would include having no clue how to shut down effects if say they go turned on for one channel. This still happens when I bring my mixer for dj:ing with friends.
Typical beginner's errors for those transferring from SL1 include pushing the wrong (left/right) rotating button trying to select a song having scrolled the library.
Things of that nature. Just about any beginner's hassle you may have experienced yourself.
Don't know about sound I just play loud :P

people coming in would need to have at least version 1.6.x running. currently, there are still many people running older versions that aren't comfortable with or don't know about the newer versions.

they can use their SL1's through the analog inputs

but the point of having a club install of Serato is that it people don't need to bring their own gear or mess about rewiring your mixer.

Exactly.
Given the way 1.6.2 is shaping up, I'm fine with informing DJ's they have to use 1.6 or later...I think most of them would want to be on 1.6.2 anyway with the major improvements. But I don't want to deal with DJ-rewiring, and it will be expressly prohibited in all three of the installations (there's external access to the processing loop and aux input, and they'll be allowed to bring their choice of CD players if they don't like the Pioneers I'm installing).
Looks like the biggest worry is the effects...I wonder if Rane should come up with an alternate coverplate overlay for the Serato area of the mixer that's less cryptic for non-SSL users. Better still would be an external effects display on a small screen that could somehow be driven from the USB port (with a pass-through for SSL users to plug into). Don't know if it's technically possible though.
I fired up one system the other night for the first time, and it sounds great. Small dance-bar place with EAW AX396's on the dancefloor with an EAW SB528z (dual 18") sub, and EAW UB80's in the "lounge/bar" area. The phono preamps in the TTM57 sound noticeably clean and quiet even with gains cranked...noticed that when doing the "turntable feedback reality check".
Thanks for the comments, and if anyone else has installed a 57 I'd love to hear any useful info (good or bad).

can i use 57 as i would the sl1 interface box.
club has permanent djm 3000 & i bring in my sl1 & tap onto piggy back rcas at phono input to 3000. i personally need a home/mobile mixer, could i replace the sl1 with 57?
individual deck analogue phono level/line level outs, fx send i suppose? [or digital for that matter (not the usb stupid)]
i know this is offtopic, it's actually the exact opposite topic.
sorry, the new discussion link bugs away.
need the 57 to also have the simple sl1 functionality.
or i will have to own both!

Here is another one you need to be carefull with, it confuses me sometimes and I know my way round the mixer.
scratchlive.net
If someone accidentally presses B5 and B1-2, they will no longer be able to hear that channel through the headphones with the fader down.

Opening night at one of the places with the TTM57SL was last night, and the mixer worked great...didn't seem to cause anyone any stress at all. We had a couple of non-SSL DJ's (who both seem extremely ready to make the jump after seeing it in action), one guy running 1.6.1 on a Mac and the closing DJ ran with 1.6.2 PB3 on Windows.
The only new TTM57 "issue" I found in real-world use is that the booth monitor outputs don't "dim" or mute when the mic is engaged....something you usually want in a club situation. I hope that functionality can be added as a user-preference, it's extremely important when you need it.

This isn't possible, all the outputs on the mixer actually come from the same D/A converter, they just have individual analogue volume pots.

Thanks Mark for setting up a SUPER booth @ Jet! Oh, and thanks to that dude next door for letting me hop on his network to d/l the 57SL drivers. 16225 under pressure... flawless! Wow... that could have been a disaster! LOL ;-)

herd a rumor that Voodoo lounge in Vegas has a 57 now outside.
