Firstly, why not a Firewire option.

Secondly, a track recorder, which records two stereo tracks, one from each 'deck'. Be masterful for mixtapes.

1) Been discussed many a time. There's no reason for firewire, it won't give a lower latency. USB1.1 is more than enough to play two audio files at once. Not all computers have firewire ports, but every computer has a USB port. USB is a lot more compatible. Firewire would have raised the cost of SSL, etc, etc. If you want to read more...

the second one is not possible with most mixers, only possible with the ttm57
