Hi there, i'm unable to find any info on this...
Can Serato be used with Pioneer CDJ 800 mk1?

I got a gig coming up, but only pioneer cdj 800 mk1s.... so i'm not sure if that will work, as i have always used turntables.... but out of limitation of the promoter, I need to use CDJ 800 MK1s....

please let me know if this is possible and how to set it up also...
many thanks in advance.
regards
Rich

Yes, the 800 MK1s will work fine. You connect everything like you normally do with turntables, CDJ outputs to SL1 inputs, SL1 outputs to mixer. Only thing you need to change is in the setup menu, select line inputs instead of phono. Also make sure to keep the key lock/master tempo function turned OFF on the CDJs (there's a little button for it right by the CDJs' pitch fader).

Konix has nailed the commonly overlooked things when using cdj's

1-Change the audio input level in Scratch Live (set-up / hardware) to Line
2-Do not use the MAster Tempo / Keylock / Effects on the cdj

If you want to use the cues and loops inside the software, play in REL mode.

If you are trying to use the cues and loops from the cdj, try ABS mode.

Hi there Konix and Chad,

thanks heaps for the info.

So...
CDJ Output ----> SL1 Input
SL1 Output ----> Mixer (I'm guessing is the Line-In much like where the normal CDJ line would go yes?)

Would it then be possible to still use Normal CDs with this Serato Set up?
Or is it set up differently?

Cheers guys, great work and thanks in advance.

Your connections look correct.

If you have a 4 channel mixer it can work. Scratch Live requires 2 Line level inputs. Your cdj's running in the "thru" outputs would also need Line level inputs. That is why a 4 channel mixer is needed.
