So I'm At Home Chilling And I Was messing With My Macbook Pro.Well I Came across Live Type and decide to mess with it well Guess What Family I Came Thru For Us Video Jocks.In Live Type You can Make a Text logo,You can make it say anything You want and then Save it As ???.ok This is what I did.I opened up Live Type.At the top when it opens You will see canvas untitled.next to that you will see inspector:untitled,thats where you type in what you want your text to say.next you will see Text,Style,effects,timing and attributes.this is where you tweak the text.next under media browser I Go to effects and add the effect in category.then hit apply.now to the left where you text is you will see a play button.hit play.after you play it hit File then go to save as ??? then go to file again and select render movie.and save on your desktop.now the other program i use to convert it to mp4 is VisualHub and I convert it to mp4.now this is the best part serato see's it as a mp4 so now you can add it to a inst.track or loop it and play it.you can use the effects also.here is 1 I did playing around with it.if u wanna send paypal cash send it to q2entertainment@gmail.com.thanks.you can make text on the fly like say drink special's.here the video's. s23.photobucket.com s23.photobucket.com s23.photobucket.com

the 2 programs you need are: Live Type VisualHub (convert it to mp4) I forgot you can put it in a sampler and also play t like that.

Hey You Can use livetype to insert A Text On A Video In 5 Minutes.type your text in live type.then use visualhub to convert it to mp4.after that you can load it into your samplers and have it play over the video or load it on a deck and loop it.so no one can say they made your mix.it takes 5 minutes to do.look at the attached video's.s23.photobucket.com s23.photobucket.com

Isn't LiveType part of Final Cut Express? Or did they now pre-install it??

I have final cut pro.on my mac.but its cool and fast when you use this program.you can make text for whatever club and save it,then render movie.after that us visualhub and convert to mp4.im still playing with it and got some new look text going on for the clubs im at.like the name of the club,drink special's,$2 henny Shots.its crazy.people been asking for text and its been on our mac's all alone.

so you're saying you can load the video, created with live type and visual hub, to the sampler and it will play over the other videos??

It's not on every Mac. The only reason why you have it it's because you have Final Cut Express. Live Type is part of the Final Cut Express install.

If you had Final Cut Pro, you wouldn't have it. You'd have Motion instead.

I've been doing this in Vegas on a PC and playing it on my Mac laptop at the club.

I'm still waiting for the day when VSL can do this LIVE without having to render into MP4. Instant messages on the screen (Happy Birthday so & so, Specials on so & so, Get the Fuck Outta the Club Assholes, etc.)

ANY GRAPHICS PROGRAM CAN CREATE TEXT THAT YOU CAN LAY OVER A VIDEO!

Motion can too. After Effects can too. ffmpeg can too. LiveType is also included as part of Final Cut Studio 1.

well since everyone keeps talking about text being add to vsl.but now you can add it.I have motion too,but for some reason motion or my time machine won't open.so I'm going to head to the apple store in a hour to get that fixed.the text is good to let people know who is djing,who really made the video mix dvd.etc

i was not aware you could load videos into the sampler and it will display on the main output. Im at work atm, can anyone confirm this?

sorry was a misquote.you can't load a vide to a sampler and it play.that should be something serato looks into.now that would be cool.

no I thought that the sampler can read the mp4 codec, but Dj Ace told me it can't.but you can load it to any deck and play it over the video or add it to a instrumental.you can also use the effects to make it look even better.you can scratch with it.or loop it,that's what I do,just loop it or add it.since its a mp4 now.

that's true but it seems that most of us didn't know that.I made one that said happy birthday pat and they gave me $25 for doing it all night on the tv's plus kept buying me drinks.so that's the excitement!!!!!!!!!

DJ'Que, it makes things easier to read for everyone if you put at least one space after your periods or commas.

How were you able to display "happy birthday pat" all night? If you loop it on one channel don't you have to take it off when you mix between vids?

+1. I can create an mp4 pretty quick with photoshop + Imovie, but it still doesnt solve the issue of having the ability to add text on the fly without having to use other applications.

thanks for the info on the space. I will remember that. I didn't have it loop all night. I just loaded it to a deck thought out the night in my mix when I thought of it. plus they kept bringing me drinks, so that made it easy.

you got to be kidding me. You can't make all your pre made text at home (like I do) then use it at the club or on your mixed dvd. It took all but less then 5 minutes to make one on the fly, while serato was running. Now that I figured this out, its really not a plus for serato to add it to their program to me. Cos you still would have to type it in, the pre sets can only say so much, b4 you wanna add your own text. I would prefer them to make the sampler read the mp4 video, so I can loop it, with out the decks.

instead of buying fcp or final cut express, going into another prog to enter text, THEN having to render WHILE using the SAME COMPUTER to run ssl/vsl, then IMPORTING a file (which takes up more hd space)......why not just get MixEmergency and do everything ON THE FLY....much more on the fly than this method...

1 program.
mac only.
less cost.
less resources.
