Not really no.
The video encoding process in Ableton is out of control slow and in terms of DJing with it, it's just not fast enough. There aren't enough effects, etc. You'd really be better served using another program.

Yeah, no way at ALL Is Vegas #1. Vegas is practically a hobbyist suite.

Is it? It has some nice features, but I've used it quite a bit and never came away impressed at all, especially compared to Avid, Premiere, and FCP.

of course. Its how you use it like anything else. I've never used Avid, but have messed with FCP & Premiere. With Vegas, the workflow is much better, whatever I'm thinking of I can easily translate that into the project. Where the other two don't flow so well, especially FCP. But everyone has there preference, I'm just chiming in saying Vegas is very powerfull. I do have a couple edits under my belt :-) haha.

Believe me of all people I know that you have some edits under your belt :)
That said, it's hard to beat the workflow in Premiere considering how it interacts with the rest of the Adobe suite.
I think it's just whatever you're comfortable with. I've been using Premiere since it was Premiere 1.0 so it's what I use.
