I really like serato website -HTML, CSS, JavaScript- and the integration of the forums. Is it built up on any available framework?

Glad you like the website.

We use a framework developed in-house as opposed to an off-the-shelf package. We've talked about open-sourcing it but currently it's a proprietary solution.

For the interface we heavily use jQuery. Best thing to happen to Javascript ever!

have you tried cakephp? i used it for my site and love it. we use jquery and YUI too.
