Sup everybody i'm about to get the pioneer cdj 1000 mk3 with the tt57 rane mixer. I know you can't run SL native on the mk3's. I have numark ICDX's now and I can run native with them.
My question is, is it gonna be a pain in the ass to switch to using time code disc? How does it work? Tips? Tricks?
Thanks guys

just pop in the cds and use serato like you normally would with native support. you just can't use your cdj to scroll thru tracks with your knobs. u should be fine.

You won't find it too much of a hassle I wouldn't expect, for general playback controls nothing will really change.

It shows the signal quality SSL is recieving, with CDJs you should basically get consistent 100%.

Probably makes more sense to go with the new cdj900, they run in native, soundcard..etc etc.. Not too much more really i think.

Also set a loop on the CDJ so you can just let it run all night and you won't have to keep restarting the cd every 16 mins.

after "upgraded" to the CDJ 400, i hate going back to the timecode cds. the control is more so precise than using the timecode,,
i would go with the 900s.

Wait 2 months and get the CDJ900. Its MIDI and HID so you can map all the points. No disks, etc...

Not until Serato makes it run natively like the CDJ400, I would wait to hear from a SSL rep to see if they will add native support for the 900/2000. Although I cannot see why they wouldn't

i would go with the 900s.
word, I sold my CDJ-1000 MK3 as I gotten a pair of CDJ-400s. I primarily use them for mobile gigs or when I want to make a more precise mix demo. All done via HID mode. Everything else I just use Technics.
