The track list says "61. Tony Matterhorn – Dutty Wine (Clean)"

I thought they were 2 different songs.. one by Tony (that uptempo reggae I don't really care for) and one by Vybz (slower and super vulgar)?

I don't know the vybz one but i'll be sure to look it up... The Tony Matterhorn one is the uptempo one that you are thinking of.

Also i am pretty sure some of the songs on this mix are tagged wrong... but good mix none the less
DJ Dynamight 3:54 PM - 14 October, 2009

These are the 2 that i saw upon first glance (title i have is in parenthesis)

2. Wayne Wonder feat Buju Banton – Bonified Love (I Don't Know Why)
69. Serani – Play It Straight (No Games)

I could also have the wrong track title.... who knows
DJ Dynamight 2:07 PM - 15 October, 2009
Oh okay...Play It Straight and Bonafide Love are the official titles. The ones in parenthesis are probably what the general public know the songs by.

I have a track ID. On one of DJ Vice's crsvr mixes he plays a reggae song that has lyrics that go "I'm a travelin man".

I've google searched and found a few reggae songs with that title and similar lyrics but it's not the one he played on that mix.

Anyone have an idea?

Hey people, I am looking for a reggae dancehall song probably released in the 90's.

It has words like "put your hands where my eyes can see" (Part is sang by a lady with a sweet voice)

Then it features somewhere "No scrubs-TLC" words like"I dont wanna give you mine- no-"

I have looked for it for years. Hopefully this forum will help me. Thanks

I am looking for the name of a song that came out in the late 90's. It had a man rapping and a female singing the chorus. I think it was a remix. The chorus went like

"don't you worry... don't you worry about a thing... cause whats inside of me baby is waiting for you"

The beat was banging and sounded/sampled from a song by Guy Piece of My Love

I'm looking for a reggae/roots/dub style song which I lost a few years ago and not had any luck finding.
The song started off with a robotic voice the same as Soundwave from Transformers the cartoon for about 5 seconds. It then continued into a beautiful reggae song, slightly dub like. There is another bit in the song later when the same robot voice re-appears for about the same amount of time. I'm sure the first couple of lines in the song had the word 'rasta' in them. I think it was : rasta warrior, or rasta soldier.
On the same tape which I'm 70% sure was made up were also Lee Perry's 'Jungle' and Jah Lion's 'Wisdom'.
I hope somebody can help me with this. It's a great song. Thank u so much!
SarahD 7:50 AM - 13 August, 2013
Hoping someone can help me out. The only thing I have to go on are the lyrics

"can you feel the music, can you feel the vibes.. can you feel the music, it will give you life"

If this seems familiar to anyone that would be awesome.

Woke up from a dream with a single repetitive verse from (one or two) reggae songs dating back to my childhood from the early/mid 1980's. The song(s) were sung by a man; i say plural because I'm not quite sure if the verse was a combination of two songs.

The lyrics went something like this: "rude layday... RUDE LADAYYYYyyeahhh...".. then I heard the verses "I'm nobody's fool"! It seemed to sound more of a love song, with a mellow, motown/jive vibe, and the artist singing had a Caribbean accent, as well as his back up singers, giving off that reggae vibe!

Would anyone from back in those days (quite possibly from the baby boomer generation), know who may've sang that?... I do remember my stepfather had a Reggae record album that was royal blue in color, and on the front cover of the album was a photo of crystal pyramid! I absolutely adored that album, but because I was so young, I don't remember the artist of that album, or if the song from my dream is likely related to that album.

Any help on this one? Would love to add the song to my growing collection on iTunes. Thanks!
Original'79 12:55 AM - 25 August, 2013
***** forgot to mention that you also hear the artist going "nahh na nahhhnanahnanah" after singing those verses! ******

Some words of the chorus include " Cos I'm falling in love with you...when I say I love you girl, yes I do, I really do" A dude is singing it. Anyone ever heard the song or can help me?

Thanks :D

Please help. I been looking for a song for years and don't know who sings it. It is the reggae version of Jagged Edge song "I Gotta Be". I have searched everywhere and because I don't know the artist I can't find the song. This is a forgotten reggae song I heard back in the late 90s. Let me know if you know who sings it. Thank you!

Does anyone remember a rap/reggae song that was a giant dis on PW Botha? This would have been mid to late 80s. I remember just a few lines

"Mr. Botha sit down, you had your chance to get to Zion but now your chances are blown

into the bottomless pit you will now be thrown

where rats ans snakes will eat you up and spit out your bones...."

My google-fu has turned up nothing.

There is a part in the song where the male artist sings "one man at a time" on the same tune as the gospel song " one day at a time". Than he says " she say loverboy let me tell you something this bird cant fly upon one wing, me say thats true, every word but me never see no nine wing bird" . Google is not showing any results. Hey all,

Wondering if anyone wants to take a crack at this old song I have rattling around in my head. It's a female singing and I'll try to post the lyrics as best I can...

"Love a ragga man, love a ragga man, if he can't make you dance then no one can. Love a ragga man, I'm talking from the heart..."

That's all I can recall. It might be ragga man, or something similar. Rocker man? Doubtful. Either way, if anyone can help that'd be amazing.

Thanks!

(Yeh) this is a new fashion a brand new style" ...etc etc. With a wicked Bass line, now it was just a mix not the entire tune , I have been through your list, or should I say very Impressive list ,but still cannot find that tune. Could you help me please.

^^^^ Completely disagree with the above statement in regards to 90s riddims being all based on 80s riddims. Just curious, how old are you? SOME not all 90s riddims are derivatives of 80s tunes but just like it was for Hip-Hop the 90s was the golden era for Dancehall. Classic riddims from this time period include:

Showtime
Playground
Filthy
Tattie Dance
Pepperseed
Arab Attack

I could go on and on. Remember this is also the time period that producers like Steely & Clevie, Ward 21 (late 90s), Jeremy Harding, Tony Kelly & his brother Dave Kelly dominated. This was also the time period where artist started experimenting more (Beenie Man's 'Nuff Gal' and Buccaneer's 'Sketel Concerto' were two HUGE genre bending records of the 90s)

I'll agree and say the production of today is not up to standard but there are still a few people out there producing solid riddims (Snowcone & Ward just to name two)

Is anyone old enough to remember a song I recorded off a Reggae radio station in the early 80s? It may not have been a new song at that time. The beginning lyrics are: "Me one, I travel the land with me little butter pan, them don't understand". I loved the song as did everyone I played it for at parties. I would love to know the name so I can find it again. I highly recommend it to all if anyone can identify it. Thanks for your time.

Ok anyone know this one heard it in the mid 80's lost it when someone nicked my XR2. Some lyrics may be wrong but it went something like this

"Went to a session the other night met this girl she was out of sight, the girl she was a bubalo oh ho a champion bubalo"

Think there may be some sort of discussion from a teacher along the lines of "what did you do in you holidays" then goes back into song

May possibly be confusing two songs here not sure

I have the same problem. Anyone know the song from 80s/90s, just goes Jamaica aya (sounds like yay > yaya but without the first y). It just goes on for about 7mins and no actual other words that I can remember, just some jibberish in between, like "Jamaica aya, dumfibrilate.. jamaica aya.. diddly bum" but it's a really nice flowy dreamy song, just shows a lot of love for jamaica. Anyone any idea pls post back. :)
