Beginner with a few questions..

Dj_Vibratious 2:47 AM - 15 September, 2009
I'm a beginning DJ and I'm using a Numark NS7 and had a few questions..

A.) What kind of speakers/PA package would you recommend?

B.) If I download a whitelabel track I understand that I'm obligated to play it but what about getting my familiarity with the tracks? Am I allowed to burn them to a CD/Mp3 player to listen to them? Or is it for use in Serato only?

C.) How long am I allowed to keep an Mp3 from Whitelabel...?

Hey Dj_Vibratious,
I can't help you with the first question, although I'm sure there are many DJs on this forum who could recommend some speakers. As for the second two questions, they're more my area:

B. You are not obligated to play Whitelabel.net tracks, but if you like the music and you think it will do well on your radio station/in your club then definitely play it! You can certainly burn them to CD and put them in your MP3 player to listen to, but Whitelabel MP3s will only play at a low-bitrate (32kbps) on a CD or on an MP3 player. They only play high quality when you play them through ITCH or Scratch Live with the hardware connected.

C. You are allowed to keep Whitelabel MP3s forever. Or until you have no more use for them. There is no need to delete them, and they are not time-bombed. All music on Whitelabel.net is for promotional purposes, so as a DJ we encourage you to keep these tracks and play them whenever you feel is best.
