HI. Ive been using SSL for over a year now never had any problems other than a corupted file here or there. But recently ive been dealing with this problem of files pretty much disappearing. The name of the file will be listed both in SSL & itune. But when it comes to loading them or playing them it wont happen.. both will say that the file does not exist. I dont ever remember deleting this files ..& these files i play everynight & have had most of them since ive started my library. It started with 2 files missing & it happened about 3 weeks ago, then last night i say 5 more files are now missing. i dont know if its SSL or itunes (or maybe even me) .. after my first problem ive upgraded both programs & i always converted my files to ID3 2.3v, but i still have this problem. So if anybody has any ideas or theories im all ears Thanx 4 your time. & thanx SSL i love this product u have made my life so much easier thanx. Oh Yeah & I Rule. Haha

I recently started to use SSL, the songs that are loaded in itunes show up in the SSL library, if I make any corrections in itunes, it doesn't seemed to carry over when i start up SSL. The changes takes in itunes, but not in SSL. WHen I start up SSL the songs stay the same without the changes I made in itunes. Can anyone shed some light on what I am not doing or something. Thanks for your help.

i had a similar problem where i would re name tracks and when i played them the name would go back to the old name
and it was because the mp'3 were id tag 2.4 or protected .some of them i had to convert to id tag none then 2.3 but some still changed name
i had this in a post and this was some advice for these files but i didnt try it out yet

quoate

Open up SSL, highlight one of the songs and hold down ctrl + R.
This will bring up a window that is the location of the song. Highlight that song and right click.
Click on properties.
Check to see if the track is 'read only'.
If so, change that to 'read and write'.
Once that option is changed you will be able to re-write the track information.

benn,

I'm pretty sure that the files that have been disappearing on you are ones that you've changed the names or file paths of.
When you change the names the tag that SSL and iTunes creates are no longer the same, thus not allowing the programs to know where they are.
I think the easiest way to get your songs back would be to do a search and re-import them.

just had the same problem tonight @ a gig!
i'm running 1.6 on a macbook pro.
the files appear in ssl but have a ? in them.
the only files that work are ones that i have previously played in ssl. all files are on an external firewire drive.
i can fix this by quitting ssl and opening itunes and playing ANY track in itunes. i then reload ssl and voila.....everyting is OK. obviously not a satisfactory situation. is there a fix?

Monstashak,

Rescan your id3 tags.
In the future please post your issues in a seperate post so we can keep the topic on hand organized and on track. Thanks:)
