it'd be interesting to see the log/blog of sequence of events regarding the tech issues with serato (wiring/lappy/needles...) and their solutions to the probs (unless they just gave up)

Loop problem in 1.5. didn't have enough foresight to think of LOCKING the loop......or files for that matter, but I never had a problem practising so i just took it out on stage the same way. Anyways, basically what happened was I went to cue the loop and I don't even know what I did, but I MEANT to press [ctrl "] to jump to and activate the loop but what ended up happening was my prexisting loop got relooped but only for like .000001 seconds of the drumbeat the loop was supposed to start on producing a machine gun like stutter....(which actually makes a pretty dope effect LOL.... I think ppl actually thought that's what it was at first hahaha) anyhow, nerves got the better of me which I don't give a fuck what ANYONE says when ur up there on stage and some shit like that happens to you, you just don't know what to do.....anyhow, instead of jumping to next mix or whatever, I tried to save that same mix and create the loop live again......that didn't happen lol. But yeah, just to clear it up it wasn't REALLY equipment related, just an unlucky keystroke that fucked my day up hahaha.....but yeah, I'm running a macbook pro 1.83 ghz 512 mb RAM with 1.5 and never ever ever ever had a problem. Crashes....nothing. *Knock on wood*
on a sidenote, my boy wristpect....big the fuck up man, u did ur thing, it's jokes how things turned out (either of us not finishing our routines the way we wanted and shit lol) but yeah, that's life.
peace

Wristpect : Congrats on the win! Would liked to have been there early enough to see your set, but we didn't get there until the DMC started at 7.
Do you happen to have a video clip of your winning set?

I thought the Serato Showdown coulda been a lot better, no offense to anybody in it. The guy who went first was OK, but nothin too great. The guy who went second (Illament) seemed like he had some skillz, but once the first fuck up went down, it was pretty much over. Cant hold that against him, we've all had our tech difficulties; I feel for ya man. I wouldve liked to see what the flawless routine woulda sounded like. Next up, Wristpect --> KILLED IT. The cuts were on point, the drops were nice, juggling was ill, all around great performance. Even the vinyl he used looked dope with the way he set up his stickers. The last guy, honestly, was not good at all. I give anyone props for getting up on stage and doin their thing, but EVERY drop was WAY off, every beatmatch was a trainwreck, and NOBODY in the place was feelin it. Again, much respect for gettin on stage and doin ya thang, but if that was as good as your skills get and there wasnt any tech difficulties or anything, you might wanna practice a bit more before jumpin in a competition like that.
I was hoping to see a bunch of guys kill it on stage cause TO has so much talent, but I was pretty disappointed.
DMC's were dope, but I'm more into mixing than battling, so I was looking more forward to the Serato Showdown.

I was three (demoing the 57 outside actually) and watched the serato battle, it was pretty pathetic.
If I'd known about I would have loved to enter that battle becaues I was seriously unimpressed with what went happened on that stage, easy to say without being up there I know, but the standard was poor.

I was seriously unimpressed with "what went" happened on that stage too bro....out of curiousity though, what would u have done that would have raised the standard?
