It's my first time to post here and I really don't know if I'm posting one the right thread...
I'm using the 1st gen serato box... I bought it like 3-4years ago.. I'm planning to switch to video mixing and if ever I'm going to the switching, I prefer to use the Video SL of serato..
Now, my question is.. What do I need to be able to run the video SL? What do I need to buy? Is it possible to use the Video SL without buying the TTM57's? Do you think my Black Macbook (2.16, 4gig ram) can handle the Video SL?
Please help me, Thanks!
One love!

you need to but the vsl plug in.
aside from an adapter to run the video signal off your video card that's all you "need" to buy.
you may want to get a small midi controller to help navigate/control effects and vsl. a nano kontrol works nicely and is inexpensive.
it is possible to run vsl without the ttm57.
as far as i can tell your macbook will run it.
i am sure someone else will chime in and agree/disagree.

TomtoSlice pretty much nailed it Ace. I just made the switch to Video myself.
If your mixer has midi you can connect the crossfader and any other faders you like to the video channels. Otherwise ya can just have the video auto mix while you mix the music. Regardless if its part of the mixer or you just get an extra midi controller, its definitely recommended. Otherwise you are going to be doing a lot of mouse clicking setting and applying effects and stuff.

What's the adapter you were talking about? Is it possible for me to USE an external hard drive for my video files rather using my macbook drive?

Thanks Cubed and Tomato! really appreciate the time brothers..

the video output of your mac is what displays the main siganl of vsl.
the adapter i spoke of is a video signal converter that attaches to the video output of your macbook.
for instance on my comp i attach to a dvi output to switch to either vga or s-video or rca.
yes, you can use an external hard drive for your videos.
the vsl plug in is 199.00 u.s. dollars and the nano kontrol is between 50-60 dollars.
