You can sort of do this already, even without the 57 (meaning SL1 only). Just make a loop and use the vinyl control option to shorten the loop.
But a dedicated effect would be cool.

Cant you just start a cue point, keep the key pressed on your keyboard? It should give you the same effect.

thats not it i'm afraid - its not a loop i want, because i want the track to carry on playing...its a dsp effect, not a retrigger of the actual track

That effect is from a cdj-1000 it is down by adjusting the end point of a loop. You can do this with th TTM57sl with knob controlling the loop out adjust point. By the way the 909 has a similar function but definatly takes practice. The effect on the mixer is called "fader roll" you can use the up and down faders to control the loop.

I don't think so. That really is the same thing I posted in my clip above, it's just shortening the loop. I don't think the music will keep on playing.
Indeed I have a 909 also and the roll and fader roll effect will do that same short loop buzzing sound, but the music will keep on playing also. I will post a clip later.

Yeah I should of been more clear. Jazzy was just doing doubles. The effect I was talking about was on the sample posted by Konix.
